  1. MIGHT & POWER
    by Megaton Sword
    supported by
    Ghuughra thumbnail
Ghuughra 'Epic' is the right superlative for this one. Been jamming Iron Plains on repeat for like fifteen minutes now.

Bring me my V-10 chariot, slave! I wish to crush the spines of the innocent whilst burning an astronomically-wasteful amount of Diesel fuel! Favorite track: Iron Plains.
    dinamichelle thumbnail
dinamichelle All hail the mighty Megaton Sword!
    frankwurst thumbnail
frankwurst Megaton Sword has all what you would like to hear from the genre: powerful yet also subtle riffs and rhythms, skilled musicianship, polished (sometimes weird) lyrics, good production - and a unique voice. The later is definitely Megaton's most appealing point, between Ozzy or Dickinson, even Malcolm Young.
Labeled power metal, they bloom into their own crossover of styles of epicness and emotions. Fantastic trip to a unique epical world of sound. Favorite track: Power.

    by Silent Cabin
    supported by
    Mads Peter Rommedahl thumbnail
Mads Peter Rommedahl This, right here, is when Silent Cabin really found their voice. Beautiful, layered dungeon synth that is still able to stand out from the crowd and sound inspired and unique. HIGHLY recommended! Favorite track: Thousand Nights.
    Dave Aftandilian thumbnail
Dave Aftandilian Lovely, warm dungeon synth evoking romantic ruins and lost loves. Who is this beautiful creature? A shadow cast by the moon; a gentle whisper deep between the trees. For her I step out of my skin, new and raw and pink. Her smile caresses me, and I melt into the starlight between us.

craig meech Insanely talented can't wait for the next release 🤘 Favorite track: Transmigration I - Pelagic Voids.
    Sean TPLTR thumbnail
Sean TPLTR Four tracks seems about perfect for this band. Songs that are long but don't feel as such are great in that everything fits and doesn't feel like a band trying to play long for the hell of it. Great stuff! Favorite track: Hypoxic.
    rbj24 thumbnail
    rbj24 Beautiful Black Metal!
    Love this album!

C10H16 Redneck Vikings from Hell feels like Aether Realm took what they learned from Tarot and just said 'yeah we can top that' and they fucking DID. Insane album, still the best Melodeath in the industry Favorite track: Guardian.

    by Aephanemer

    jmattl thumbnail
jmattl This album is so good, it's as exciting a finding Children of Bodom and discovering I love metal. It's everything I look for in music.
    Versakhan Irenis thumbnail
Versakhan Irenis After I stumbled over A Dream Of Wilderness I bought this album, too. While I recognize progress in a direction I very much favore, Prokopton alone is also an remarkably album. Favorite track: Bloodline.
    LUMAcreations thumbnail
LUMAcreations Outstanding melodics, telligible vocals and a good helping of power and drive behind it.
In short - Absolute gem, would recommend 👌 Favorite track: The Sovereign.

Wyrmlich The moon sails in a sea of black infinity speckled with stars.

You feel flesh turn to fur, and your blood boils with bestial rage.

    The hunt begins.

gexor Another good Black Metal release Favorite track: Canadian Denim Mountain Attack.
    DNAcorruption thumbnail
DNAcorruption I know you shouldn't judge a book (or LP) by it's cover but there was something about this one that grabbed my attention and I'm very glad it did!, I didn't make it to the end of track 2 before buying the cassette, this is a great album, an awesome blend of styles and dark as f**k. I give it 10/10. 🤘 Favorite track: Canadian Denim Mountain Attack.

    mourner thumbnail
mourner The melancholy and longing of post black metal meet the intricacies and complexity of progressive (death) metal and the result is more than convincing. Truely fascinating and extremely well produced.
From what I hear there are only good years for Polish metal, Yoma 😉 Favorite track: Misbegotten.
    YomaBarr thumbnail
YomaBarr I started to listen and tripped away... Where am I? Who am I?
    I am The Wolvette!

This requires cutting all other stimuli off and sparing an hour of your lifetime for undisturbed listening, and you have my word it will be an hour well spent. This is not a metal soundtrack to a romantic horror movie, this makes you a part of the movie.

After the world killing chronicles of a mad prophet in Hekatomb's Korosta, now this multilayered, multifaceted gem. It will be a great year for Polish metal.
    bmurator thumbnail
bmurator Polish Black / Progressive Metal. I had never heard of this until recently & I love it! So much so that I cannot wait & need more even before the release date so I shall look into their discography instead. Thank you so much These Hands Melt! For the code & for introducing me to this fantastic project! Highly recommended!!!

Edit: this is totally fantastic! It includes so many different styles & they are all interwoven to make the perfect album! Cannot gush & recommend it enough... :)

    un_ciel_couleur_enfer thumbnail
) me saisit. Favorite track: La Mer, Les Ruines.

bmurator For me, this is perhaps the very best Aara album! The slower bits give it a greater sense of depth & variety. Plus, as mourner pointed out, they give you time to breathe... :) Really love both songs & want more like this please! Highly recommended!!!

  5. Triade III: Nyx
    by Aara
    featured track 00:00/00:00
    Heimgesucht Heimgesucht

    Domwai thumbnail
Domwai Talk about sticking the landing. This is the perfect—and I do mean perfect—way to wrap up a trilogy. The production is flawless, the tracks are epic, and the riffs are gigantic. On its own, this album is a modern BM classic. Taken as a whole, the Melmoth trilogy is one of the genre's defining statements.

    Favorite track: Emphase der Seelenpein.
    Cordial Despair thumbnail
Cordial Despair Ever since I heard the opening track on Triade II, they had me sold. Best intro track to any album ever. As for III, it feels less starlit with clear skies as II, and more street lamp lit and smothered in fog(nothing to do with the cover ironically). I think it really captures that gothic approach they were going for with the inspiration from Melmoth. Didn’t love Eiger as much as the trilogy but would I also buy that in the future? Yeah. When money isn’t tight. It all slays though. Hail. Favorite track: Edo et Edam.
    David Fischer thumbnail
David Fischer It should not be allowed to release so much great music in such a short timespan. It is though, and behold Aara pulling it off: casually releasing the most majestic trilogy I can recall in the span of three years, each release surpassing its predecessor. Nyx is the crown jewel of the saga, operating at breakneck speed with just a few moments of respite, yet still keeping the focus on the melody and Fluss' impeccable vocals as well as sporting a musical elegance untold. Magnifique! Favorite track: Unstern.
