Edward And Yet It's All Love picks up where the classic Yellow Memories left off, more modern production, funkier rhymes, varied styles. No surprise this is being played all over and praised by music heads like Gilles Peterson. What makes Fatima so special isn't just her voice, but that she's got a funk/style/edge to her and her music. veldusi Whereas "Allambie" (2024) felt like a self-contained magical place, "Hiriketiya" feels more like openair soundstage where I would expect artists like Peter Gabriel and Paul Simon to turn up with their on-the-road Athens/Graceland collective, yet followed up by a more contemporary freestyle producer/dj such as Simon Mills (Bent).
Is it because the first track has a bassline somewhat familiar to the outro of Pete's and Kate's "Don't give up"?
