  1. Devil in the White City
    by Joe Bailey
    supported by
    randalator thumbnail
randalator You know that thing where you come across an album that just ticks all of the boxes? This is one of those albums for me. It's so chock-full of ideas that it should be all over the place yet somehow comes out as one cohesive whole. It's heavy, it's poppy, it's complex, it has a great concept and every. single. melody. is so catchy you'll be humming/singing along from start to finish. Genuinely my Album of the Year 2022. Favorite track: The Fruitful Dead.
    PKMetal thumbnail
PKMetal When I hear a prog rock concept album that's metal enough for my taste, I'm always willing to give it a shot. I didn't expect to like this album as much as I do. In fact, now I'm a little ticked at Joe Bailey for forcing me to enjoy a song that has a chorus of "I think I love you." To my regret, he makes it work perfectly enough that I wouldn't change a thing. I'll be listening to this a lot. Favorite track: Doctor Death.

    Holy crap...new Skull Servant!.!
This is such a MASSIVE leap forward for a band that was already damn good.
I'm not kidding. This is a full on AOTY contender. This stands up to anything l've heard all year. Honestly: it stands above almost all of it. Favorite song? Take your pick.

Sharoyko Andrey This might be what German synth-pop of the 80s would have been like. Favorite track: Take Accountability.
    Benjamin Murray thumbnail
Benjamin Murray I’m a new listener of the book on VHS duo. I’ve been impressed so far by their “world building”;They have such a distinct sound and I’m loving it.
I attended the pre-release listening party. I was left blown away by how many styles and conventions can all be wrapped into one song and yet fit so well. It just works. I loved it from beginning to end and can’t wait to hear it all again upon its official release!
Thanks book on VHS 🙏🖤✨ Favorite track: Take Advantage.

    elmoantoncantor thumbnail
elmoantoncantor Very impressed, it evokes dark pagan tones from the past. Excellent.
    Daan thumbnail
Daan These are sounds that echo to the listener from beyond the veil of time, and the album does an excellent job of presenting this aesthetic, as if the listener were in a trance, and hearing fleeting remembrances of notes and stanzas in the transom of forgotten history. There is a primal, tribal element and aesthetic that permeates the entirety of the album. Favorite track: Coilltean.

Kevin-Secret Collector I took the time to listen to it more than once, and it is a real gem.
Beautiful and melancholic, it has a cosy vibe but still manages to be very dynamic at times.

In the top of my list of best album of 2026 for sure ! Favorite track: Autumnal Sorcery.
    gkerr thumbnail
gkerr Some of the best dungeon synth in all the land! It’s both adventurous and meditative. Love what they’ve done with this one.

johnly93 Listening to this album feels the same way as playing Elder Scrolls games as a teen. Amazing range from happy inn music to more melancholic, subtler songs. Favorite track: Dance of the Rain Folk.
    Robert Paulovic thumbnail
Robert Paulovic Great dungeon synth / fantasy synth. Definitely worth to support it if you are fans of Fief / DIM or Descort. More of your music please.

Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) 《 Now, no man shall ever trespass upon this place again. 》
    — Lord Emon, Shadow of the Colossus. Fumito Ueda.

Favorite track: ONE-EYE - The Highlands of Ancient Blood - Part I, The last King of the Highlands - Part II, An Oath of Gold and Silver Blood - Part III, By Sword and Axe I Rule.

    supported by
    Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) thumbnail
Favorite track: WINGRATH - The Pagan Cultists.
    Nwabe thumbnail
Nwabe Wow, Wingrath is particularly GREAT !!! Not just DungeonSynth, though. Favorite track: WINGRATH - The Pagan Cultists.
