    t0rqreturn2019 Even though this more in the vein of early BM, it already shows their compositional strengths. The tracks sound like journeys, not songs. Some of the synth sounds are a bit dated, but this holds up.

    Christian I absolutely love this album. One of the best modern doom metal albums in recent memory. Excellent vocal work, great droning guitars, and an awesome fantasy backdrop to boot. Very reminiscent of the Sword but with more haunting vocals. Favorite track: CRYSTAL CAVE.

    Sun. Disappear Castle Rat are absolutely killing it.

    They’ve put in the time and paid an absolute fuck ton of dues.

    I’ve seen them being disparaged in the Doom community over some misconceived lack of “riffs”. 🙄

    Castle Rat are arguably 10x more Metal than 80% of whatever else that happens to pass as “metal” these days.
