mdrennan A record I come back to and fall in love with over and over. Favorite track: The Sound of the Ground.

wettuesday The Sound of the Ground is one of the most emotionally potent songs I have ever heard. Criminally underrated does not even come close to describing the universal acclaim that this band has not yet received. Favorite track: The Sound of the Ground.

Pasquale Striano Completely unaware of this one until just recently, when I had been a big fan of their first album back in 1991 (yes, I’m THAT old).
I wish I could get my hands on a physical copy, but as for now that will suffice.
Strange album, compelling. Can’t stop listening though.

greentangerine You enjoy all the comforts of the modern life— all your good faculties, a warm house, food on the table, unlimited entertainment, and it'll all be there for you tomorrow —and yet none of it seems to make sense, you feel no purpose or belonging, you dread waking up as much as going to sleep and you only get a pit in your stomach knowing how many years of this are up ahead. Favorite track: The Egg.
    Nicholas Kent thumbnail
Nicholas Kent Surgery is almost TOO good of a song that the rest of the record can't keep up (for me) haha. This isn't my favorite Shiner record, but some of the individual songs are without a doubt among their best! Favorite track: Surgery.
    Grant thumbnail
Grant Shiner's anxious opus on conformity and anesthetization turns 20. dark arts of post-hardcore woven through a sibylline narrative. simple truths 🥚 Favorite track: The Egg.
    nedomedo thumbnail
nedomedo Around 2015 I was listening and discovering a lot of bands through streaming service algorithms. This album blew me away. Sure, it's some sort of alternative rock, but it was still unlike anything I've ever heard. It's not just a vibe either, the songs are really good, even the instrumental song, Andalusia. It f*ckng rocks! Pills is my favorite song, partly because I can play it, sort of. 😆 Favorite track: Pills.
