distant planet Psych-folk with a late 60s / early 70s flavour. If you like Nick Drake or Fairport Convention you will enjoy this. It's an observation of change and a celebration of a hazy, high summer harvest. The music transports you to the moorlands and mill towns of Northern England. Dark and open and embellished with beautiful melodies and thoughtful lyrics.
This is album of the year 2021 for me. Favorite track: Fools Gold.
    Deadpixie thumbnail
Deadpixie More proof that psych /folk didn't pass with the 70s. Brilliant albums are still being made in the genre... like this.

varg this sounds exactly what I was looking for, I was looking for songs like mint car and Friday im in love by the cure but pathetic and this is it!!! Favorite track: Narcissist.
    Joe thumbnail
Joe like a long lost jangle-pop classic from the 80s. Singer is dead-ringer for richard thompson. Feverent pacing, great lyrics. All killer, no filler
    Ben thumbnail
Ben The Tubs are masters of one of my favorite kinds of song: catchy chorus with absolute downer lyrics, especially ones that focus on how much of a loser the singer is. This album adds more depths of sadness than their previous effort, as this focuses on the trauma that was left in the wake of the suicide of the singer's mother. Yet, it's still somehow very catchy and enjoyable. I can picture shouting along with many of these choruses in a pub somewhere. Favorite track: Illusion.
