freejazzy Unusual instrumentation. Synth bass, piano, drums & perc. And with that flute, trumpet and piano playing melodies (sometimes unisono) and solos. It's because of the combination that the voices gain a special quality. And not to forget because of these marvelous musicians. Favorite track: One Mo' Dram.
    Justin Tucker thumbnail
Justin Tucker What a beautiful record delighted to cross paths with Ruby Rushton and 22a. Could I suggest a 22a t shirt? I'd buy one. Favourite track one mo' dram but love this album from start to finish

    Rob O. thumbnail
Rob O. I really like that Mark has leaned more toward Jazz with this project. The tenor sax player does a nice job too! Looking forward to the red vinyl. Please stay on this musical path. Excellent, love it!
    THE NONSEMBLE thumbnail
THE NONSEMBLE When Mark de Clive-Lowe first announced that he was putting together a show to reflect his Japanese heritage and invited us to check it out... I was immediately taken.

The first Grand Performance of that show was - not surprisingly - sublime.

The announcement that he was doing three nights at one of L.A.'s very best Jazz rooms to play and record a fine-tuned evolution of that incredible meant that we would HAVE to be there to check out at least one of the performances.

Ended up sitting in for all three. The vibe and beauty the man and his band managed has been very near translated into these recordings... and I am just grinding at the bit - holding on until the first full album is released, so that I can offer a more exhaustive write-up.

In brief... Get this. You want & need to.
    jojorabbit_badgoogle thumbnail
