OrsonXD This album is smooth in its delivery and its inclusion of those oh so sickly sweet makams. Favorite track: Sleep Drifter.

  4. Switzerland 1974
    by Soft Machine
    supported by
    Nick Bradey thumbnail
Nick Bradey Great live set . Ratledge in fine form ,as are all the band . I always prefer live recordings over studio perfectionism. The live recordings of the Softs reward attention, and enable comparison with the various personnel shifts . Sadly no involvement from Robert Wyatt . This is an essential addition to the Soft Machine cognoscenti. I recommend this without reservation . Favorite track: The Man Who Waved At Trains.
    PDD thumbnail
PDD I knew I wanted the album about 30 seconds into Hazard Profile. A wonderful example of their brilliance live, but I had trouble selecting a favorite track because almost the entire album sounds like one long multi-part song (like the second side of Abbey Road). Favorite track: Hazard Profile.

    Gavin Hellyer thumbnail
Gavin Hellyer When you consider the very uniqueness of this group, why wouldn't you buy it? They really are a seriously spectacular live act as well as masters of the studio. Favorite track: Zero Degree Machine (Live in Leipzig).
    Greg Scranton thumbnail
Greg Scranton Left feeling a little duped. Thought I was buying a "live" album but in fact it's the same album that I already purchased only with 4 live tracks as digital downloads. My fault I guess but the cover photo is a bit misleading in my opinion. Favorite track: Zero Degree Machine (Live in Leipzig).

    Karloff thumbnail
Karloff I can't believe I had never listened to Thinking Plague until today. This is an incredible live album. I highly recommend the Mike Johnson interview.
