  1. The New Breed (IA11 Edition)
    by Jeff Parker
    supported by
    Theincredibleafrobeatboy thumbnail
Theincredibleafrobeatboy I first heard Jeff Parker through Makaya McCraven’s work but I wish I’d found him sooner! The New Breed is one of the most original and captivating albums I’ve ever heard. Every musician has time to shine and the samples are sometimes funkier than the actual drumming. Throw Aretha Franklin over those beats! See if I care!

Thank you to International Anthem for the reissue! Favorite track: Jrifted.
    The Tonearm thumbnail
The Tonearm "If I had made 'The New Breed' in Chicago, it would've been completely different. I would've been involved in a different community, and the aesthetics that that community of musicians had would've worked their way into that album, and it would've sounded completely different. It's more about the community than the actual place geographically."

mrcool All I have to say is woah!. This is contemporary to some context, yet that syncopated slip on the beat is dope! Favorite track: Executive Life.

Michele M. L'intensità che le mani di David Pajo riescono a distillare dalle corde della sua chitarra (con l'uso di praticamente nessun effetto e/o kilowatt) non smette mai di sorprendermi.

Aaron Ott The Pajo you know and love has returned with with most concise collection of songs. It's peaceful, yet jarring...and makes you want to hit play again to solidify the sounds in your mind. Lovely.
