seanmcg_ Really cool heavy post rock, drums are amazing. Favorite track: Verses.
    J. Wright Reviews thumbnail
    J. Wright Reviews I first discovered Russian Circles in 2020, through this album. Now, with the anniversary sale, I knew I had to grab a CD copy! This album has the absolute perfect blend of heaviness, atmosphere and melody and the songs are written to give you just the right amount of each before switching things up. Some post-metal can almost overstay its welcome but Station doesn't have that flaw. Everything flows with perfection! Favorite track: Verses.

scott A sonic rollercoaster; so much tension into relief, nightmares into dreams. Favorite track: Verses.

Lute FP Some bands just do thrash right, and when they do, I buy. Leaning towards death in the vocals, but by no means of cookie monster brand. Everything is just right here.

Update- after a couple weeks of constant spins, I have to say this is possibly the best modern thrash I’ve heard in a long time. The drumming is off the chain, and the riffs and changeups are evidence of genius level songwriting. I gotta dig deeper into the band members.
    Rat Bastard thumbnail
Rat Bastard can't describe this better than death thrash with John Tardy style Vocals, and some awesome rock and roll style solos. they just fucking giver!! for fans of good music, recommending and supporting!
    dainton thumbnail
dainton 'cause of death' mixed with 'beneath the remains' the Bathory cover was a stroke of genius that i didn't imagine would work Favorite track: Raise The Dead.

Brad Christenson Because hail Satan, that's why! Favorite track: Satanized.
    unbentsuperpyro thumbnail
unbentsuperpyro My closest friend introduced me to this song and it's significance as a song about Mortal Sin and their personal struggle with that concept. Favorite track: Satanized.
    joythroughdeath thumbnail
joythroughdeath Skeletá and Impera both suffer from the same issue: they’re one-note, bland, and so buried in 80s metal worship that nothing truly stands out. These two albums even make Prequelle look like S-tier material, and it clearly isn’t. Tobias has lost the plot and cashed in; Ghost has shifted from being a band with personality to a hollow institution. The sinister edge is gone, the uniqueness stripped away, and what’s left is little more than redundant drivel.

  3. Kvelertak
    by Kvelertak
    supported by
    Jeremy Withers thumbnail
Jeremy Withers A stone-cold classic of underground metal, and a love letter to rock & roll. The twists and turns that Kvelertak take are unrivaled - in a different band, it might come off as proggy and intellectual, but they make it vital and organic. Riffs for days!
    Christoph Wagner thumbnail
Christoph Wagner Amazing punky Black'n'Roll. Probably the best album of the genre. Favorite track: Utrydd Dei Svake.
    sashavonkarl74 thumbnail
sashavonkarl74 Debut self-titled album of the polymorphic black'n'roll Norwegian metal band. It is not my usual go-to but it's very special, in a good way, with surprising twists in almost every song. Not a fan of original lyrics I can't understand usually, but the music is so good that I immediately forget about that. Favorite track: Blodtorst.

Rabbit Abbath certainly proved himself the superior songwriter with this album: easily the best of Immortal's discography. Favorite track: Withstand The Fall Of Time.
    sashavonkarl74 thumbnail
sashavonkarl74 Simply the Opus Magnum of the Immortal era with Abbath! Favorite track: Where Dark And Light Don't Differ.
    Sid thumbnail
Sid I love Immortal and this album. The fantasy world and its lore is what really drew me onto this band when every other band was following the trend of trying to be edgy satanic kvlt lords.

This band on the other hand just dished out top quality black metal meanwhile every other band were just releasing music just to release music and be edgy.

The album has a raw sound, but doesn't sound like crap. More bass would be nice, but it is still a very enjoyable album.

Favorite track: Withstand The Fall Of Time.

    Sean thumbnail
Sean Intense and aggressive black metal with hints of atmosphere and occasional hardcore ferocity. An Hagakure-like philosophy of finding life in the awareness of inevitable death fuels the album. The drummer is also the vocalist, which blows me away. And she does it just as well live as she does in the studio--check out recent video clips! Great album. Favorite track: She Carries the Curse.
