  1. The Way Out of Easy
    by Jeff Parker ETA IVtet

smoore_2001 This album transports you so fully to a place almost outside of time. Transcendant yet tranquil. Favorite track: Late Autumn.
    Robert Kyte thumbnail
Robert Kyte It is exciting to listen to something on the edge of collapse. Sputtering into being & evolving. To be a passenger on a musical journey, a witness to improvisation. These IV inspirational players are the wheels on this creative juggernaut of a vehicle, overdriving the headlights and not wearing seatbelts. This is jazz which does not obey speed limits, immaculate & dangerous. It is not hard to understand why Flea wanted Mr. Parker and company to be the band around his solo album.
    More, please! Favorite track: Freakadelic.
    tzyb thumbnail
tzyb I love this album so much. The intimate sound, the meditative minimalism. It’s mesmerising, grounded and uplifting at the same time. Thank you. Favorite track: Freakadelic.

jonespstephen Beautiful, works both as foreground and background music. Listened twice through today on a long drive with kids in the car. They kept quiet and listened.

snapmike Discovered thanks to Gilles Peterson showcasing the Black Classical Music album. Absolutely love these live versions. They live in my head as separate songs to the recorded ones. It’s the subtle differences and humanity they each have. Record of the year, easily. Thanks for sharing it. Can’t wait for the vinyl to arrive! I accidentally bought two of the pink one, if any hunters need one, DM me. I’m snapmike on IG. Big up YD & crew 💚 Favorite track: Turquoise Galaxy.

    Nqobani T thumbnail
Nqobani T I can't believe this is my first time listening to this band. It goes without exaggeration that this is one of finest modern jazz albums I've heard. Stays true to the spiritual jazz movement. Favorite track: Pain Becomes Prayer And Prayer Becomes A Song.

maoltod This group, also on "The Way Out of Easy," can sustain and deftly shift grooves in an intoxicating way. I wish these performances were twice as long, because they get better and better as the group stretches them out.

Brilliant music from a brilliant ensemble.

joshjames Love the free grooves and how warm this sounds. The IVtet have a unique was of fusing jazz with lovely ambient atmospheres. These performances are great.
