  1. Act III: This City Made Us
    by The Protomen
    supported by
    ButchAmy thumbnail
ButchAmy I feel very much like I want to crawl into Act 3 and curl up and stay there. Not because it's cozy and warm but because it's like a hole under a bridge while it's freezing rain and storming outside. It's cold and hard but it's dry and the pain is familiar. (This is a positive btw) Favorite track: Buried In The Red.
    theyca11megman thumbnail
theyca11megman 16 years of waiting all lead to this incredible banger in an album of bangers. Favorite track: No Way Back.
    jlangel thumbnail
jlangel A sweeping celebration of 80's vocal excess; lyrical narratives as dramatic as any theatrical; and crushing instrumentation. What more could you ask for? Bought this album sight unseen on a recommendation, and I was brought under The Protomen's sway instantly. Favorite track: Calling Out.

    Henrik Thøgersen thumbnail
Henrik Thøgersen Greyhawk return with a vengeance! Definitely a contender for power metal album of the year! Favorite track: Land Of Ashes.
    caffeinatedmetalhead thumbnail
caffeinatedmetalhead I'll admit I was a bit worried when the band announced Rev left to focus on his opera career. My worries seem to be unfounded as Anthony has done a great job in doing his own thing while melding with the band's style of heavy/power metal. I do like the nods to Rev's time with the band and how he effectively passes the torch with his contribution to "Chosen." For me, this is another solid chapter in this Seattle outfit's legacy. Current favorite track: "Warriors of Greyhawk" Favorite track: Warriors Of Greyhawk.

    spacciathemax thumbnail
spacciathemax Ciao a tutti!, this album deserves a pause for some deep reflection. I was already very impressed by their previous work, but here we are at an absolute peak. In my opinion, we’re talking about a 'Masterpiece.' Why? Because it made me relive the same emotions I felt when I was young and had just listened to the legendary Manowar’s 'Into The Glory Ride' for the first time—who, along with Slayer, are my absolute favorite bands. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to listen to great music!" Favorite track: Black Blood.

Absolute Zero The only other thing that hit me with similar bombastic, bat-shit intensity recently was the latest release from Demon Bitch, particularly with the gang shouts. This is the right kind of weird metal.
    dcdirkzwager thumbnail
dcdirkzwager When I put this on and the vocals kicked in I started laughing. Well, I cackled would be more accurate. It was a cackle of joy though. I am guessing this is an acquired taste, but if you like metal, these vocals should be appreciated if you ask me.
    Ches Trulson thumbnail
    Ches Trulson This fucken RIPS!

Can we get the lyrics pls? Favorite track: Blighted Deity.

To find yourself in the pit with ED - priceless 😂

Seriously though, does not know life who didn't see them live. Lars couldn't have found a better team to fulfill his vision. Pure immersion and magic.
Lars' unique riffs enhanced by another lead guitar with the third one in the back, weaving an intricate lace of sound. Thunderous bass. The drummer making my jaw drop. The dual growls (Brecht, you should do that more often!). Thanks, guys!

signed, the tall one in a Shylma shirt ;)
    Wruin thumbnail
Wruin From the artwork, to the composition, to the production, this album is an experience. Captivating and heartfelt performance that is sure to stick to my rotation. Favorite track: On The Edge Of The Cliff.

    delbuss thumbnail
delbuss Labyrinthus Stellarum blends black metal and electronic music in a way that hits my soft spot for both worlds, almost like BM and synthwave mated and gave birth to a completely new genre. What's not to love? Favorite track: Take Us Home.
