  1. Let Our Names Be Forgotten (Split with Thou)
    by Ragana
    supported by
    iheartf2p thumbnail
iheartf2p This is an awesome album, it introduced me to the Ragana duo, who meld black metal, atmosphere, and raw emotion so nicely, i really love their screamy vocals. Nat that Thou's side should be ignored, The Fool Who Thought He Was King is just top tier Thou. I am very looking forward to the LP in the mail, gonna blast that shit to my neighbors downstairs (just kidding they cool ppl) Favorite track: The Void (Ragana).

quelana Spare, haunting, and brutal - this melancholy metal album is a howl of defiant rage. Favorite track: Winter's Light.
    trainh13 thumbnail
trainh13 When you strip down metal this bare it has to bring emotions just as exposed. Ragana lays it all on the table and knocks it out of the park Favorite track: You Take Nothing.
    eManRenaissanc thumbnail
eManRenaissanc I can't pin this down genre wise but it hits all the right buttons for me. They remind me of Nirvana if Kurt had started a blackened funeral scream band. The riffs are spacious and devastating and the screams are just as destructive and cathartic. It's just the right length too. Beautiful album. Favorite track: You Take Nothing.

    Mister Mouse thumbnail
Mister Mouse Lurking dread in a dark forgotten forest. Bristling with a fraught tension, like the hairs of a wolf as it stalks its prey. Fear inducing ambiance as the songs snarl and expose their powerful jaws and the gleaming fangs of beauty in the cold moonlight. Don’t get lost or forget your way as Coltaine lures you deeper into their realm.
    Urso X thumbnail
Urso X I always hate choosing the opener as my favourite, but "Mogila" pulls you in like a tenebrous, inexorable undertow. Utterly breathtaking. Favorite track: Mogila.

    straumli thumbnail
straumli Excellent sound for remaster of album I have listened to for years. Favorite track: A Moon Short Stay Cure (Live).
    Ravenwell thumbnail
Ravenwell This album is so dreamy, so spacey, so... unknown. It's like music played by a ghost from another world. Totally dig it. Favorite track: Spider Like.
    rikm thumbnail
rikm "Bloom Flowers, Bloom!" is a high point of the 90s Darkwave scene, a stunning album that perfectly blends haunting vocals and lushly textured music with intricate song structures and complex patterns to create a fully immersive listening experience.

This 2020 remaster brings an additional clarity and detail to the work that further draws the listener into the beautiful and surreal world of Trance to the Sun, adding a new layer of discovery to this truly essential release...
    zerospawn thumbnail
zerospawn "Trans-Lucia" is probably TttS's most overtly post-punk track ever written and Zoë's raw intensity brings the death-themed lyrics to unsettling life. "Clandesinty" seems to be another overlooked one, starting with ominous crooning over an equally ominous bass theme which gradually develop into a more explicit aggression. The first of the bonus tracks, "Clown Small & Even", is more memorable than much of the proper album, with its strangely carnivalesque rhythms and more concise songwriting. Favorite track: Trans-Lucia.
