The Black Keys used to be all scuzzy (and way more awesome) but their albums, Dan Auerbach's production, and the whole Easy Eye roster have all continued to get slicker and slicker throughout the years. Not so much The Velveteers, though. "A Million Knives" is even grittier than their debut, with thick slabs of guitar and pounding drums. The label could use more of their rebellious attitude.
