OneQuarterPower This album is a shining example of how beautiful simplicity can be in music. It manages to convey an absolute fuckton of nuanced emotion, ranging from wistful longing to naked optimism, all with just a handful of bloops and a robot voice. mattgraupman The Black Keys used to be all scuzzy (and way more awesome) but their albums, Dan Auerbach's production, and the whole Easy Eye roster have all continued to get slicker and slicker throughout the years. Not so much The Velveteers, though. "A Million Knives" is even grittier than their debut, with thick slabs of guitar and pounding drums. The label could use more of their rebellious attitude. Favorite track: On And On.
mrbungleswildride This song has power, energy and passion ripping through it. The ethereal voice floats over the drums and guitar - dragging you in and down. When as you crawl up, you are changed inside & out for all the right reasons. So, yea. I liked it. Favorite track: All These Little Things.
