    MediZen thumbnail
MediZen I've been following Havok since their first album 'Burn" and it has the same exquisite taste with a simpler recipe: social criticism, against the oppressors, in favor of liberty, and, finally, doing Thrash the way i like: fast & furious.
The mix, including sound and lyrics, gives them the right to pickup the flag of Revolt

schnayblay This album is an undiscovered gem from the thrash genre...this song is a belter. Driving fat riffs on those phat Gibson classic guitars, and a cracker singalong chorus. Love these guys for smart content like this one - nailing those feelings where you feel your life being de-narrated. Havok are on the money Favorite track: Killing Tendencies.

  4. Burn
    by Havok
    supported by
    MediZen thumbnail
MediZen Havok released this debut album in 2009 with remarkable influences from old-school Thrash bands. BUT, what Havok did best was the innovation, creating their own style, upgrading' the old sound, starting some kind of 'New Wave of Thrash', without losing the typical claims in the lyrical aspect
So yeah, play it loud & proud!
    Havok is here to stay

FFO: Evile, Warbringer, Harlott, Terrifier, Reaktion, Favorite track: The Root of All Evil.
    Snyjxr thumbnail
Snyjxr I can't believe I finally found a thrash band with a perfect discography. With the purchase of this album, I now have all their discography, and I can't choose my favorite album. They are all stellar. Such high quality! This album is more basic, and one can see where it all began, yet it is just as powerful and awesome! I adore this band!! Favorite track: Melting the Mountain.

Bart Really well done death-thrash. You know the sound now. And yet, it still finds new areas to carve out. Would love to see them live up here in the States. Favorite track: Toxic Legacy.

Matten They really knocked it out of the park and into outer space with this one. Favorite track: Stratocumulus Evergaol.
    Nuclear Girl thumbnail
Nuclear Girl Another incredible achievement, and one of the most anticipated metal releases (at least for myself) to come this year. Thankfully, much like Yellow Eyes, the wait has been worth it - Cryptic Shift have only gotten more excessive, more trippy, and more ambitious, and I love them for it! Favorite track: Hyperspace Topography.
    insidethewire thumbnail
insidethewire If Nocturnus and Voivod had a bastard child. And raised it on unhealthy doses of LSD. Stellar musicianship. Can't stop listening to this. So far, right up there with Immolation for AOTY 2026...

    WhereWraithsDwell thumbnail
WhereWraithsDwell One of the most critically acclaimed Mastodon albums. The songwriting is strong and varied, with well-developed melodies and some country style guitars too, and besides those, Brann Dailor's hyperactive drumming accents every composition. This album is a definite modern classic packed with great riffs that combine sludge with the complexity of progressive metal and hardcore-like shouted vocals and an appropriately oppressive atmosphere for portraying the story of Moby Dick. Favorite track: Hearts Alive.
    Mount_Mourn thumbnail
Mount_Mourn One ups the debut in ambition and forward thinking Favorite track: Blood and Thunder.
    naasty thumbnail
naasty Had the CD when it came out, lost that. then downloaded a really shitty rip from limewire or something and that's the only non-vinyl copy I've had for years. Yesterday my brother told me Brent died and it hit closer than I would have thought. This music had a huge impact on me when i was younger and I am finally getting a legitimate digital copy. What a ripper, a total classic! RIP Brent
