    Kris Faust thumbnail
Kris Faust Immolation is synonymous with consistency, technical prowess, ferocity, and monumental songwriting. Descent is no exception. Real contender for album of the year.
    eManRenaissanc thumbnail
eManRenaissanc My favorite band, still thriving 40 years in. There's no one else like 'em. Just ordered the vinyl and had to buy the BC version too, of course.
    KenshirO thumbnail
KenshirO Crushingly heavy, oppressive and filled with a dark epic sound that many death metal bands could never hope to achieve. Tops even Acts Of God. Fantastic production and some of their best work ever. I recommend listening to it with a pair of Heavys 🎧 on. It will make your testicles explode Favorite track: Attrition.

    dimeback_le_terrible pure old school death-metal
    spacciathemax thumbnail
spacciathemax Ciao a Tutti! Their new release of Vomitory caused a massive rift in my family.Attila and I were 100% down to buy the album, but my wife and daughter gave us an ultimatum: No 'noise' in the apartment,or I’m out! My wife has mediated for years with bigoted neighbors who tolerate church bells near my house every 30 minutes, but hate Vomitory’s heavenly screams😅. The final verdict: Loud headphones👍
P.S. Nothing against our Lord Jesus, but those bells are worse than Neapolitan Neomelodica Music😅 Favorite track: For Gore and Country.
    Dark Emperor thumbnail
Dark Emperor Brutal, catchy, songs that aren't too long, vocals that scream everything away—what more could you want? Favorite track: Cataclysmic Fleshfront.

  4. Black Seeds of Vengeance
    by NILE
    supported by
    Sid thumbnail
Sid While this album was my least favorite in terms of sound production, this album was absolutely epic and a huge step up from their first album.

This album brings in Dallas Toler Wade and he is a great addition to contribute guitars and add to Nile's diverse range of vocals.

I'll say, I miss Hammoura's drumming. His performance in To Dream of Ur and his blast beats sounded amazing with the lead guitars. Favorite track: To Dream of Ur.
    Dan Hébert thumbnail
Dan Hébert Building on the strengths of Among the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka, Nile delivered a dark and truly memorable album. Favorite track: Nas Akhu Khan She En Asbiu.
    Obsidian One thumbnail
Obsidian One For me, no future album by Nile ever topped their full-length debut, Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-ka — which pushed the death metal scene into a fresh, unheard direction. That said, the title track, 'Black Seeds of Vengeance', is absolutely epic and a reminder of why Nile was so important in the earlier death metal scene. The repeated chanting of "Black Seeds of Vengeance" starting at 2:42 — fuck yeah! This minute alone is worth every penny of this digital purchase. Favorite track: Black Seeds of Vengeance.

  1. Roots of Darkness
    by FAMISHGOD
    supported by
    tr_🇺🇦 thumbnail
tr_🇺🇦 More laid back cool rifftastic death doom metal. Rolling double bass (also laid back). Hardly any uptempo parts. Some screeching vocals that mirror how I feel when someone fails to nod to this. One simply does not not nod. Honestly, in spite of the song titles this has no effect on me emotionally. Feels like an awesome jam session of death doom enthusiasts but the keyboardist, dulcimer player and... jaw harpist couldn't make it.

Sightless_Wisdom Be prepared to either die or go to jail because you will piss off your neighbors so much with how loud and powerful this music is that you will either fight to the death or kill your opponent and rot for the remainder of your days in prison. So basically the music will achieve its goal of laying waste to everyone and everything that hears it. Favorite track: Invoke War (feat. Machine Head).
    justintylerhughes thumbnail
justintylerhughes Savage heavy grooves Favorite track: Absolute Zero.
    positronicping thumbnail
positronicping Frozen Soul move ever closer to the Platonic ideal of death metal on this album. It's all timeless stuff, teeming with infectious riffs and pulverising grooves, as well as some appropriately icy atmospherics here and there. It might be meat and potatoes, but it's cooked by Michelin star chefs. Favorite track: Ethereal Dreams.

sashavonkarl74 The third album by the Swedes is a full-fledged masterpiece of... no surprise there... Swedeath done the Stockholm way. That said it still feels modern and absolutely rich in riffs and melody, the kind that sticks! Top-notch guitar work, flawless production and altogether a must have if you call yourself a death metal fan.

Got the CD directly from the Hammerheart web shop ;-) Favorite track: Memorial Cries.
