    by Primitive Man
    supported by
    justintylerhughes thumbnail
justintylerhughes Glorious and terrifying Favorite track: The Lifer.
    Cordial Despair thumbnail
Cordial Despair When life stares me down a bit too hard, I listen to Primitive Man. They turn anger into purpose and reason. The groove and heaviness is plain dirty on all of their records. I prefer the newer stuff, but only because I’m a picky person. Rather than complain about the wrongdoings of the world, the lyrics expose the pitfalls at the core of humanity’s problems. When I first heard Primitive Man, I was shocked. Metal hasn’t shocked me in an incredibly long time. I love that they can do that. Favorite track: Foul.

    josedenoche thumbnail
josedenoche Wails of ache and disgust varnished in a crumbling wall of heathen noise, enthralling the listener to a torture séance of sheer hatred. A unorthodox masterpiece of experimental mayhem were music is torn asunder. Can't stand it? Sorry but not sorry for you! Favorite track: The Little Death.
    YomaBarr thumbnail
YomaBarr You need particular mindset to listen to this. Which happens twice, maybe three times a year. But when it happens, this will be there.

  2. Observance
    by Primitive Man
    featured track 00:00/00:00
    Social Contract Social Contract
    supported by
    Unhinderedbytalent thumbnail
Unhinderedbytalent There is a sense that Observance has lots more to it that I could describe but, in the end, there is no getting away from how gloriously bleak it is. Although I would hazard a guess that for some this barrage of hopelessness would be too much, I doubt anyone familiar with PM is coming to this record expecting spade after spade of positivity. Favorite track: Natural Law.
    justintylerhughes thumbnail
justintylerhughes Modern masterpiece of atmospheric death sludge
    Dan Hébert thumbnail
Dan Hébert Heavier than an M1 Abrams rolling over your foot. Fuck me, this is oppressive. Then again, it's Primitive Man so I knew what I was getting myself into. Favorite track: Iron Sights.

AwfullyFawfully Fun use of instrumental loops & voices layered with rigid gut-wrenching noise, gives Venereology its own flair of absurdity. Excited to hear more from Merzbow. Favorite track: Slave New Desart.
