cinnamondestroyer I have listened to this SO MUCH since it flew across the sea. I mean an embarrassing amount. Like the way you listen to music when you're 8. Over and over and over and over.
Just the right amount of indie guitar crunch, the right amount of melody, the right amount of attitude, the right amount of grrl sweetness in the vocals, leavened with the aforementioned attitude. I'm SO happy I discovered them and the pretty vinyl/cover combo. Favorite track: Jesus.

    Sonic Sleuth thumbnail
Sonic Sleuth Found SY by way of one of my friend's mix tapes in the early 90's.

They remain as a part of the nucleus of sound from which most of my musical taste emerges.

I invariably stop whatever I'm doing when "Death Valley '69" kicks in (*see also DV'69 on Live in Brooklyn).

"The World Looks Red" has a similar effect here. Favorite track: World Looks Red.
    18gigabytes thumbnail
18gigabytes I'm not usually the biggest fan of Sonic Youth's 80s output, but MAN does this live recording kick ass. Favorite track: I Love Her All The Time.

bee8383 I love this album, but the only thing I'm confused about is on other platforms it says there's 8 songs, but here there are 7 bit confusing. Otherwise, one of my favorite albums Favorite track: Early Morning.
