  1. Blessings and Curses
    by Non Est Deus

Bart The "Impious" album by Non Est Deus was one of my favorite albums back in '22, but "Legacy" from '23 didn't quite click. This new album is a step back into fine form. This new album almost has...hope? The writer is struggling with some of life's biggest questions the music elevates it all. Still think "Impious" is my favorite album, but with each listen, this album gets closer. Favorite track: My Lord.

allthegoodnamesgone Amazing album, keep it up Noise! Live in Munich was a feast! Favorite track: Transgression.

thisk9barking This is really profound. I am amazed at the songwriting and ideas of a person who is trying to understand Christianity and is frustrated with the virus of religion.
Good stuff, thought provoking, and you and Hans kick serious ass.

Wastelander_101 Heard this EP on Black Metal Promotion's stream and i was immediately hooked on their rhythmic variation and ingenious riffs. They deliver dynamic and progressive songs with intrincate structures remainder of bands like Enslaved, DSO and Blut aus Nord. One of the best EPs of 2020. Favorite track: Maldoror.

bmurator Italian Atmospheric Black / Folk Metal. This rolls along like a long lost friend & envelops you after decades of separation. There are many haunting melodies here as well as more traditional solos from the hard rock side of things. The whole thing is still very much BM right to its core. The vocals are fantastic too. Another top notch album & highly recommended - no faves!!!
    Ippocalyptica thumbnail
Ippocalyptica Absentia is a very interesting mix of atmospheric and often mellow black metal with folk and progressive rock influences. What does Blaze of Sorrow do better than many other bands? Simply put, conveying a wide range of emotion - from the melancholy to the hopeful - through well-crafted, distinct, and diverse songs. I hear a bit of Nokturnal Mortum, Moonsorrow, Anathema, Cor Scorpii, and others in this album, and the variety on display across these seven songs is impressive. Worthy of respect. Favorite track: Sonno d'eterno.

YomaBarr I looked at the length of the first song and thought: ah yeah, another weepy synth intro on one note. How wrong I was.
Covid-19 definitely has positive influence over quality of metal.
