The Tonearm "With the last few albums, there hasn't been any discussion of direction. And usually, when I'm getting ready to write, I don't listen to music. I tune the whole world out for a bit. I want whatever is going on in my head to be as clear as possible."

    dashconroy thumbnail
dashconroy This might be C418's best work. It's really an amazing combination of the ambiance he perfected with Volume Beta, and a full realization of the EDM undercurrent running through his discography. Favorite track: Thunderbird.

  5. Spirit of the North Demo
    by Eldamar
    supported by
    Dieter thumbnail
Dieter This track feels very powerful compared to the "original" one. Every time I listen to one of his song it makes me feel like I am walking in nature with my forebears. I really love the tracks titles too, simply amazing.
    Oleg Frolov thumbnail
Oleg Frolov Yes, it's a demo. Yes, it's a bad computer microphone. Yes, the bass isn't real. Yes drums too much exposed. Yes there's no "a-a-a-a-a" and "a-r-r-r-r-r!". But there's something about this track... I cannot tell. This need to feel. Very good that Mathias decided to posting this track. It's really very good.

    Sid thumbnail
Sid I love atmospheric black metal like this. Check my library and you'll see most of it consists of black metal bands even though I'm more of a brutal death metal guy.

Why? Well, atmospheric black metal like this is a refreshing change from the overplayed satanic and gory themes. Sometimes, Im just in the mood to listen to something more calming yet aggressive when I am having a hectic day at work or be lost in my thoughts during hikes or runs. Favorite track: Winter Night.
    Obsidian One thumbnail
Obsidian One Atmospheric and tranquil, Eldamar's music is black metal that feels neither dark nor aggressive. The vocals — both the harsh, distant screams and the ethereal female chants — drift elegantly in and out of the mix. 'Spirit of the North' is the track that evokes the strongest memories in me, and I really like the follow-up album, A Dark Forgotten Past, as well. Beautiful and powerful, just like nature itself. Favorite track: Spirit Of The North.
