This album fits like a glove, feels like a friend, brings me closer the heart, and offers glimpses into a world I wish to explore. The tones, recording, the feels. Acoustic, electric, grooves. Love this!

To listen to Adam play (or talk about playing) is like an invitation to breathe, connect, and open yourself to a deeper wisdom. He is a rare sort of virtuoso whose craft welcomes all to share in the experience, a true gift to the guitar and jazz community.

I usually stay away from standards albums as they have been done to death. This is different. I haven’t heard standards this fresh in a long time. They blur the lines of melody/chord progressions/tempo/bar lines to create something completely new. The telepathy between each other and the looseness in which they play reminds me of the second great Miles Davis quintet. This album is like a revelation. Not to be missed.

A deep and thoughtful selection of truly great tunes, played in far out and astonishing ways, that ultimately proves the immortality of the small group jazz concept. Truly every cut is killer and gorgeous, but even after this entire epic collection I could listen to twenty more takes of everything. outstanding!!

i was at 2 of these shows and they were a highlight of the year for me, so glad to see this music released -- the interplay is incredible and the interpretations are so fresh. the recording quality is excellent as well.
Favorite track: Solar.

Worth it for the liner notes alone but the 1987 gig here is red hot - it absolutely blows his studio record out of the water in terms of energy and drive
Favorite track: This New Generation (1987 CBGB's).

Not only a raging trip back to the good old days with one of my favorite bands of the past but still a definite rocking statement. A treasure and a pleasure from start to finish.
