Creep Church Morphine were, and remain, an absolute singularity, even among the heady rush of exciting and innovative rock bands springing forth from the post-Nirvana major label gold rush of the early 90s. With Vapors, Morphine founders Colley and Deupree, along with New Orleans bluesman Jeremy Lyons, give the lie to the old adage that American lives have no second acts. Long live low rock, and long live Vapors of Morphine.

Nickie Harte Kelly Combining forces, Bostonians Tanya Donelly and Chris Brokaw reimagine some Medieval pieces using modern instrumentation. Tanya’s haunting voice and Chris’ brooding and echo-y guitars create a sense of antiquity, as if recorded in a monastery. Favorite track: Sainte Nicholaes.
