miniontaint Just a phenomenal album, all round. Favorite track: Bleed Out.
    gatko thumbnail
gatko Solid album that feels like a continuation of Witness, or at least a similar overall production style. Enjoyable, easy to listen to, and a nice palette cleanser from heavier stuff. Great work! Favorite track: Cannibal (feat. Anders Fridén).
    Tc thumbnail
Tc Still an album I return to. Has a great sound gentle but hard. And the best track? It’s the very last one! Wow!! Favorite track: Tray.

wsamsaal It’s Sylosis, so you know it will be good. They always deliver the ultra heavy goods! Favorite track: Spared From The Guillotine.
    Metal Cat thumbnail
Metal Cat I was hesitant at first, then again, we're talking about Sylosis. I've always loved their music, helps me turn off my brain & just vibe (if that makes sense). Favorite track: Adorn My Throne.
    Murphrygian thumbnail
Murphrygian Bought this ahead of the Sylosis/Bleed from Within tour coming to Greensboro in May. A strong metalcore entry for 2026, and a great show! Check them out live!

    StrengthWithin thumbnail
StrengthWithin As a Cannibalism Corpse fan I appreciate their longevity and professionalism. I’ve seen them live 13 times and they never disappoint. This album is a banger. They only get better. Favorite track: Overlords of Violence.
    DOOM thumbnail
DOOM This is a great Cannibal Corpse album with RIFFS that will rip your face off. OG Cannibal Corpse with Chris Barnes and newest Cannibal Corpse with Erik Rutan are the best Cannibal Corpse. Favorite track: Summoned for Sacrifice.

Tezcatlipoca Golgotha. The first track, first riffs. They can stay in my head for days.
    McNegus thumbnail
McNegus It took me decades to finally hear the brilliance of this band. My ears and dark heart were not yet honed enough. I am glad to have arrived. Cavernous, technical, evil as fuck and deadly serious about the border between the sound of old school Death Metal and the "spirit" of raw Black Metal. Hail to some of the greatest (still!) on the scene... Favorite track: Unholy Massacre.
    Ben thumbnail
Ben Massively influential is probably an understatement. Savage fucking record.

    RasGhulz PT thumbnail
RasGhulz PT Don't let nobody fool you, this is one of the most blasphemous releases to ever be seen and heard, at times it seems these canadian blasphemeres were possessed, spitting the biggest heresies one can come up with, killer instrumentals too, raw agressive production, nailed perfectly, get this if you dare. Favorite track: Weltering in Blood.

default I have a hard time thinking of a death metal band that sounds alike to Scolopendra, they have a truly unique sound. They manage to sound completely rancid without being LoFi. Mi piace! Favorite track: Priest's Blood Soup.
    bcb723 thumbnail
bcb723 Blood stained, weird ass death metal. Infused by Italian horror, this is quite the treat with winner of the year for best song titles across the board to consistently demonstrate a theme: "Tormenting Dying Nuns","Priest's Blood Soup", etc. This was one album I almost missed this year and let slip through the cracks but am glad I found. It's like being inside the end of some twisted horror movie. And you can't stop the bloodshed. So you listen, watch and wait for your turn. I loved every second.

    Cadavre_Sombre (Midgard_OBM) thumbnail
Cadavre_Sombre (Midgard_OBM) Great record. Primitive, bestial Black Metal very crude, extremely swift, the drummer is a killer, the blast-beats are impressive, the vocals are excellent, powerful. This latest release from 2019 is truly amazing. Old school. Or else, the others projets from the members of Death Worship are just legendary and are some reference in the genre : Revenge, Black Witchery, Conqueror, or Blasphemy!

Tommy Wright Jr Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Favorite track: Silver & Steele.
    Hooligan Tony thumbnail
Hooligan Tony One of the BEST black metal bands this side of the Atlantic. This is for sure one of their best releases: its grim & familiar like all black metal but it isn’t afraid to mess around a bit with the traditional tropes and pushes the style further forward without sacrificing its integrity. Also, having Danny Diablo from Crown of Thornz/Skarhead on a song is a sweet bonus. Favorite track: NYC Nightmares.
