    Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) thumbnail
Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) Thanks to a lucky constellation of the planets, I was able to see this unique composer, cellist, and vocalist live in Leipzig. She's a Guatemalan in Mexico, and she was accompanied by her friend Héctor Tosta on guitar, a Venezolan living in Mexico, too. It was an awesome evening full of unusual avantgarde music, and talking to both after the gig revealed that they are very lovely people, too. Needless to add that this is the kind of artists that I support with purchases whenever I'm able to. Favorite track: Cada Músculo.

Carsten Pieper I recently saw (via the Arte mediathek) a Joni Mitchell tribute where Jesca contributed and was wondering whether new original material might be on the way - and here it is :-))
Ordered without hesitation! Favorite track: Caravan.
    Graham Usher thumbnail
Graham Usher Another great album Jesca Hoop. Really is another gem, I look forward to letting this sink in over the next few months. Favorite track: Big Storm.
    micahedmonds thumbnail
micahedmonds “Every sound that has happened or ever could, all at once all of the time. The bell rings, the pin drops. The whispering wood. Only transfer; never die. An ocean of voices you can’t hear, you can’t feel. Baby, one of them is mine. Invisible pulses are carrying me to the other end of the line.”

Thank you, Jesca. Thank you thank you thank you. Favorite track: Long Wave Home.

micahedmonds Simply one of the most finely composed, intricate and emotional album experiences I've ever had. I didn't think it was possible to love a Jesca album more than Hunting My Dress, but this works as an emotional inversion of Dress in so many powerful ways. Top 5 of all time. Favorite track: 7lbs of Pressure.
    Carsten Pieper thumbnail
Carsten Pieper You can't do wrong with a new Jesca Hoop album. I admire artists who found/invented there own musical language and Jesca is among them. Then, the songs reeve from good to great and her lyrics never shy away from any topic. Not necessarily easy listening, lyrically, but very recommended! Favorite track: Silent Extinction.
    jluann thumbnail
jluann Deeply experimental and deeply felt; this is Ms. Hoop stretching herself out of the comfortable sounds and predictable rhythms. Not sure how I feel about it, but I definitely feel some sorta way! After sitting with it for a while, I realize that this is a very confrontational album. It's not meant to be comfortable songs you put on in the background--Ms. Hoop is putting some very discomforting truths in here, and the music reflects that. Overall I really like it. Favorite track: Lyrebird.
