emfred-dot-com Mind-bending noise record flush with richness and innovation. Takes a while to warm up to, but worth the price of admission. Favorite track: 2-11 To Backstab, to Schism.

Crinklechips Free Jazz at its best. Only discovered Tim Berne recently. I love the tension between structure and improvisation on this live album. You get extended really crazy improvisations out of which a structured driving riff will appear. Its really thrilling! Like tension exploding! So yeah, I love Bloodcount but I realise this wont be for everyone 😁.
    Jonathan Pryor thumbnail
Jonathan Pryor Incredible submission from this band. It was almost impossible to pick a favorite! Favorite track: Mr. Johnson.
    Giles thumbnail
Giles wondrous, the commitment and ability of everyone in this band are at the highest level, and the compositions inspire the best from all the different combinations of players. everyone is thrown out without a parachute, and survives (just)

i listen to Berne and Mitchell and think 'yeah guess they don't need a bass player, a genius pianist can cover it', then listen to this and think "on the other hand a genius bass player can cover for piano". still challenging and cutting edge in 2021...

John Cratchley I remember seeing Bloodcount play at Leeds Irish Centre about this time…the band very nearly outnumbered the audience… but it was one of the best gigs (out of very many) I ever saw and the band were terrific…on fire…25 years ago!! Who says you can’t time travel? This rediscovered recording took me right back…what a find! Thanks Tim…Love & Respect.
    Giles thumbnail
Giles I listened to this on a bus ride the other day and at one point the heaviest and funkiest drum beat I'd ever heard emerged behind a Tim Berne solo. I dunno what track it was (just like if I'd been there live?) but anyway buy this and find that moment for yourself, satisfaction guaranteed!!
    Jonathan Pryor thumbnail
Jonathan Pryor No lie! The recording quality on both these albums SUPERB! (My #2 is Mr. Johnson's Blues. The drums RIP on that tune! Favorite track: The Opener.
    Eric Devin thumbnail
Eric Devin Wow! Tim's not kidding about the sound -- check out the detail on the drum solo on "Bro Ball." Burn it to CD or stream to a stereo -- currently have this on my system and the clarity/mix is excellent.

    Giles thumbnail
Giles Wondrous, packed with astonishing stuff! Technically it's only a tiny bit 'electric' but Formanek, Black, and Ducret are as heavy as any metal and/or funk band. Looking forward to the next 20 editions of this series discovered on Tim Berne's floor(?)...(ps. the sound here is at least as good as many studio albums recorded 20 years later..."Someone" did an incredible job!)
    Jonathan Pryor thumbnail
Jonathan Pryor Well, DAMN BOYZ!!! The guitar is an added layer of joy. Happy Apple meets Snakeoil! Favorite track: Byram’s World.

ryan stratton I just had to comment on the vinyl. It's perfection, not a pop or a tick. Thank you for giving us this gift Mr. Berne. As will all new TB music I look forward to letting it sink in. Grab this before it's gone. It's that good. Favorite track: Guitar Star.
    Dan Regan thumbnail
Dan Regan crazy how well the voices work together, crazy how much of it is truly exciting, great improvised american music! Favorite track: Oddly Enough (live).

LupineDecay Grindcore just dosen't get better than this. When you combine JR Haye's loose animalistic vocals with Scott Hull and Adam Jarvis' extreamly technical and tight playing make for a unique sound amongst other bands of their genre. Even the lryics are brutal in unique ways. The opening tracks dealing with the sense of violent competition young men feel dating women with Cheerleader Corpses, and the sense of longing for an ex lover you can feel in the dark atmospheric track Hyperviolet. Favorite track: Hyperviolet (Remix).
    D.A.M. thumbnail
D.A.M. I can't really put into words how much this album means to me. Or how many horrible nights it's gotten me through. I'd just like to say this remaster sounds amazing, and i'd like to sincerely thank those
responsible for it's creation. Favorite track: Mapplethorpe Grey (Remix).

I’m late to the metal scene so I’m catching up on buying whatever I missed the fuck out on.. I’m so glad I have as the music swallows me and I’m often not consciously aware of my immediate surroundings, but who gives a Fuck eh? I’m having fun and that’s what it’s about.
PD have designed something that will fucking outlive every single person on earth who’s alive today be just born or near death.
