    Scott Bamford thumbnail
Scott Bamford Bought on the day of release on LP and still own the original record. The only album to beat the debut, stands up against everything that has been put in extreme metal, head and shoulders above 99% of all other bands recordings

Stolen Mongoose I saw Morbid Angel live in concert at The Regent DTLA in Los Angeles, California on March 26, 2023.

    honeycombguy thumbnail
honeycombguy You know an album's gonna be peak when the first riff reminds you of "Mars, the Bringer of War" Favorite track: Reek of Putrefaction.
    GMurphrygian thumbnail
GMurphrygian UK's metal explosion rivaled the Florida scene in the US, with bands on both sides of the pond simultaneously redefining what heavy metal was, and creating the sub genres we quibble about these days.

    sock4never thumbnail
sock4never This is the most personally appealing piece of music I have run into in a long time - from the beautiful lyrics and art and the crushing, non pretentious gorgeous heavy music. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, crushing - are there are other words? Gorgeous, exquisite....

Matthew Johnson This is war metal proper, played incredibly tightly but still noisy and lo-fi enough for the bullet-belts-and-gas-masks crowd.

    Styg Bond thumbnail
Styg Bond Great, full sound. Kind of reminiscent of Mgla in terms of riffage. Could use a slight boost in the vocals, but that’s just a minor gripe. Very impressive output. Amazing demo for sure. Favorite track: Tombs Of Resolve.
    Urso X thumbnail
Urso X Everyone is incredulous about this being a demo for a reason; the first 30 seconds (or less) of track #2 will tell you why. But it's the guitarist for Wormwitch, so is it really a big surprise? Definitely going to revisit that band's catalogue and keep an eye out for anything Ismere graces us with in the future. Fantastic! Favorite track: Tombs Of Resolve.
    acaDamien thumbnail
acaDamien This is a demo? This is incredible... well done, just a brilliant work. Favorite track: Cloven Oath.

    OgnjenST thumbnail
OgnjenST I've always seen this as a NWOBHM album for the melodic death metal scene. It brilliantly balances aggressive death metal with sublime, memorable melodies, drawing as much from traditional heavy metal as it does from extreme metal, while also incorporating heavy grooves. Carcass managed to establish themselves on the scene as a band that had something new to show at the time, gore-obsessed medical themes to explore the abstract and philosophical. Such a good album and band. Favorite track: Heartwork.
Sascha / The Metal Grimoire thumbnail
Sascha / The Metal Grimoire absolutly classic Death Metal album! I also love Necrotisism but "Heartwork" has a special spot in my heart,... countless awesome songs like especially This mortal Coil, the titletrack "Hearwork" or No Love lost, Carnal Forge.... Carcass went again more in the melodic with this album, while Necrotisism was yet very melodic,... but they kept aggressive with some blastbeats and a aggressive vibe in the songs... awesome! Favorite track: This Mortal Coil.
    Hell_For_Breakfast thumbnail
Hell_For_Breakfast Classic Carcass — saw the vinyl was available so I had to pick it up and add to my collection. Favorite track: No Love Lost.
