  1. Memoria Vetusta II - Dialogue with the Stars
    by BLUT AUS NORD

trill-dilly-92 this album is so gorgeous Favorite track: The Formless Sphere (Beyond the Reason).
    grahamy thumbnail
grahamy Airy beautiful flowing BM, but with an inhuman component (which seems to be the one thread running through all BaN's works). I like it, but this is above anyone's likes or dislikes. Favorite track: The Alcove of Angels (Vipassana).
    nawzda thumbnail
nawzda The best music in the entire universe and beyond. Still getting goosebumps listening to this magnum opus after 12 years. Favorite track: The Alcove of Angels (Vipassana).

  2. Ethereal Horizons
    by Blut Aus Nord
    supported by
    Timothy Carr thumbnail
Timothy Carr Symphonic, bombastic, and completely over the top in the best possible way. They've transcended black metal and become something more: art rock. Proof that "avant garde" that does not always mean pretentious. Favorite track: Shadows Breathe First.
    Sean TPLTR thumbnail
Sean TPLTR Another masterpiece. Blut Aus Nord is an instant buy without hearing a note. Lots of subtle melody on this one! Favorite track: Shadows Breathe First.

  3. Alone in a World of Wounds
    by Steve Von Till
    supported by
    zionengine thumbnail
zionengine This hits me as more relaxed, a little "warmer" than Von Till's previous albums. If his earlier work offered a means to endure the darkness, these songs suggest that we can find peace if we stop clawing blindly for daylight. Favorite track: Calling Down The Darkness.

  4. ...For Victory
    by Bolt Thrower
    supported by
    Hannah thumbnail
Hannah heavy in every meaning of the word, I need that cover art on a poster/flag Favorite track: ...For Victory.
    StrengthWithin thumbnail
StrengthWithin Not a bad track on it. I’ve been a fan of this album since it dropped in the 90s Favorite track: Tank (Mk.I).
    Sid thumbnail
Sid Old school death metal done right. Bolt Thrower are my go-tos for some heavy old school sounded death metal.

What I really appreciate about this release is that is doesn't stray too far from the IVth Crusade while making some tweaks to improve sound production and writing catchier riffs. I find myself humming along to their songs while at the office.

    Highly recommended! Favorite track: Remembrance.
