Gil Caveira These guys made some kickass doom-y stuff... I regret getting to know them better only later and after the passing of David. Woods deserved way better recognition for this emotion-full lyrics and instrumental. Favorite track: I Was Buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Holderhëx This is truly an all-time favorite; I love Dave Gold's guttural singing!
There are one or two lines of text that could sound a bit like misogy, though... But considering that this album is about processing a serious break-up, one can probably understand that there is a certain (temporary?) hatred or anger against the other sex. 🍃✨🌬 this was the first album by woods of ypres i bought so many years ago after i'd heard 'i was buried in mount pleasant cemetery'. it's a heavy album, and it feels more crude than previous records up until that point, but in a good way. to me it really encaptured the spirit and the rawness of nature (as did their previous records, but in a different way). RIP David, you are sorely missed. Favorite track: I Was Buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
