I.m.o. a 'silent saint', a reclusive but perceptive decent human individual, who is naturally gifted and somehow manages to put the 'suffering from recognizing suffering without means to change a thing about it' into a continuous musical storyboard. With repeating frames but progressing the story forward. These old archived bits give a glimpse of the man behind his more polished work, and show stunning examples of his diversity. Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) Accumuler des ébauches par centaines en six ans est certes ahurissant mais les rabats-joie diront que, entre 2008 et 2014, Damián Antón Ojeda n'avait pas grand-chose d'autre à faire. Dans unused music (2015 - 2019), il en fait plus en moins de temps alors qu'il enrichit déjà les discographies de Sadness, Left alone..., life, Nänmëë et d'autres encore. Cette compilation est paradoxale, remplie de pistes magnifiques mais perclues d'hésitations — celles d'un artiste absorbé par sa quête du sublime. Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) Ces mots sont gravés dans mon esprit : pour savoir dessiner une petite guenon, "ben faut TRAVAILLER, TRAVAILLER et encore TRAVAILLER, bougre de feignasse !!" (Holy Web, 24/10/2006). Le sous-entendu de Maliki était clair : il n'y a pas de don en art. Avec son unused music (2008-2014), Damián Antón Ojeda abonde dans ce sens. Humble, il offre ses premières créations, laisse les bizarreries, fausses notes et bêtises. Et pourtant, à tout juste onze ans, il possède déjà une maturité surnaturelle... vojev "Just Like a Flower" is maybe my favorite opener to an album this year, but this album doesn't fall off from there. It wears its influences on its sleeve without sounding out of time, a really fun album. Favorite track: Like Lovers Do.
