The dissolution of Tiso’s flagship project, Ephal Duath has left a scar, a gloom, that has festered in memory and stained the landscape that Red Rot oozes forth. As such, Mal de Vivre, true to the expression’s definition, tackles, grief, longing--sadboi colors tackled with huge gothic doom slides and scathing dissonant melodies amongst vicious vignettes. Tiso has both opened new sonic doors and, hopefully, closed a few dark chapters in his life--I'm excited to see where Red Rot goes next.
