    DAS VILLAIN thumbnail
DAS VILLAIN Maligned-at the time by the elitist academicians and erudite jerks called the so-called 'music media critics for Einar's increased vocal contributions-HTTNW! isn't as horrible and hyperbolic they made it out to be.! As most bands do, they evolve by incorporating other genres into their overall sound. The 'Cubes are no different with this release displaying a band willing to take risks resulting in better-than-average results. Favorite track: Dark Disco.

bernardyn Tremendous music straight from the icy Iceland Favorite track: Birthday.
    Daren Howells thumbnail
Daren Howells It's been so long since I last heard this album. I saw them playing in London all those years ago and it was such a mad, memorable gig. It all comes flooding back. Favorite track: Mama.
    DAS VILLAIN thumbnail
DAS VILLAIN Long before 'alternative rock' captured (and mocked) the zeitgeists during the 1990's as an umbrella term for music that wasn't 'pop', band like The 'Cubes were part of the indie rock movement where their debut came out of leftfield for many. Moody music arrangements, subversive lyrics, and a little known vocalist (outside of Europe and native Iceland) named Bjork took the world by storm. Juxtaposed to their subsequent releases LTG is more post-punk in sound with quirky avant-pop sensibilities. Favorite track: Birthday.
    nerdydaddyo thumbnail
nerdydaddyo If there's a Sugarcubes album I'd tell someone to start with, it's this one. Not only does Björk sound even more amazing with an actual band and real instruments backing her up, they were doing this in 1988 WELL before the alt scene commercialized. Really cutting edge stuff, beginning to end.

HaroldAllnut Though the hook on "Born to Raise Hell" is righteous, the overpowering, elephants-marching opener to "El Padrino" is undeniable doom metal excellence. Favorite track: El Padrino (Adolfo De Jesus Constanzo).

Queefer Sutherland Punk is dead. Crass has new life..I was a huge Crass fan growing up, still am but dont listen to them like i used to. Until now! I thought this was going to be dreadful. I was wrong. Most of these remixes are absolutely fucking brilliant. If you like or ever liked the source material just go thru the tracks and have fun with it. Youre bound to be surprised. Phil Smaller This combines the spirit of free jam sessions together with a splash of jazz and (positive) world music. The outcome is as soft as cotton while still maintaining the rough surfaces of the raw material. Inspirational and relaxing. Love at first listen. Favorite track: Bicicleta.
