Even though I, at times, wish Chris Corner moved on from the edgy, synth-heavy soundscape they've been relying on since 2015, this album makes it pretty clear that they're still interested in experimenting with their songwriting and structure in interesting and satisfying ways. Chris Corner's voice has always been controversial, but I personally enjoy the way it has aged, and if you're the kind of person who likes that sound too, there is a lot to enjoy about their vocal performance here.
