    The Ashen Codex thumbnail
The Ashen Codex Another amazing album from Skeleton Mage; no one does the medeival dungeon sound better. This album uses all of the instrumentation for whimsy but has a very melancholic undertone, probably my favorite release of his so far. Favorite track: Secret Sorcery.

Sprenzee Castle Rat makes me want Golden Axe to be my true reality. Favorite track: WIZARD.
    Sun. Disappear thumbnail
Sun. Disappear Castle Rat are absolutely killing it.

They’ve put in the time and paid an absolute fuck ton of dues.

I’ve seen them being disparaged in the Doom community over some misconceived lack of “riffs”. 🙄

Castle Rat are arguably 10x more Metal than 80% of whatever else that happens to pass as “metal” these days.

    🤘🏼 Favorite track: SUN SONG.
    novembercrust thumbnail
novembercrust I almost didn't give Castle Rat a chance. Based on appearances, I thought they were going for more of an ironic power metal pastiche & I am not keen on power metal or an overindulgence of irony. Luckily I gave Wizard a listen & got to discover some really lovely, classic doom metal. The vocals are beautiful on every track, and tho it may be inspired by retro motifs and styles of metal, it does not feel too intentionally retro. The fantasy narrative flows through the album like a dream. Favorite track: UNICORN.

    palehorse666 thumbnail
palehorse666 one of the most cleanly produced, crisp, and buttery smooth styles in the genre of synthwave belongs to Waveshaper. each outing of space faring adventure is more delicious than the last, and this record is no exception. I will never get sick of the crystal clear, ethereal beauty of this artist's signature sound. Favorite track: Alternate Reality.

hippygeorge Just really fine music! Favorite track: Feast At Half Light City.
    CyanStrawberry thumbnail
CyanStrawberry Man I don't know jack about prog metal but I know this is more narrative than most works in the genre and I love the cover art. 🎸 Favorite track: Dreamspirals.
    Colin M. thumbnail
Colin M. Mountain Caller do a wonderful job of telling an engrossing story without words. It isn’t merely a story though - it is a kickass slab of proggy post-metally goodness. Favorite track: I Remember Everything.

  2. The Way Forward
    by Intervals

    skyfire_lumia thumbnail
skyfire_lumia One of the first songs I've heard from Intervals, never fails to capture that lovely feeling I get listening to their music. Favorite track: Touch and Go.
    jackmordaunt thumbnail
jackmordaunt Best parts of metal without the cringe. Clean, articulate, punchy and bright. Love it. Favorite track: Impulsively Responsible.
    3stanveron thumbnail
3stanveron Intoxicating melodies and sick riffs all around. One of my favourite prog records of all time. Favorite track: Rubicon Artist.

    getsugaxtenshou thumbnail
getsugaxtenshou The bass on this album is so killer! The lead guitar parts make me feel like I'm among the stars. Shout out to Jacob Umansky for teaching me the bassline of Black Box at the Victor Wooten Bass Workshop at Berklee in the summer of 2022! Favorite track: Fable.
    zekrominer thumbnail
zekrominer This was the first album I had heard by intervals (specifically I'm awake was the first song I heard) and I was immediately captivated by such amazing mixing of lighter and heavier tones, hope to see more stuff like this in future albums, and the more jazzy side of prog!
    Erkadur thumbnail
Erkadur This is one of my favorite albums by Intervals. Every track is full of great energy, is unique (in terms of composition), and flows very well together. Great stuff! <3

To me, this is the first release by Aaron that really captures the melodic and euphoric energy future releases would be based on. If you dig guitar-centric progressive rock/fusion, this is a no-brainer! :D

Stellar production and imaging as well, which is very appreciated :)

For fans of Sithu Aye, Plini, I Built The Sky, etc. Favorite track: Meridian.

    Summer thumbnail
Summer Angine de Poitrine, brings new fun and life into prog rock in both presentation and sound. I think if you like Cassiopeia you'll like them. Alternatively if you're transgender you will probably like them as well. Favorite track: Ababa Hotel.
    sassychicken17 thumbnail
sassychicken17 This album breaks my brain in the best of ways. From the innovative microtonal sounds to the time signature shifts, my mind and body are fully engaged with every track. Bandcamp has the audacity to force me to choose exactly one favorite song, but they are all great tracks! Favorite track: Ababa Hotel.

Favorite track: Yor Zarad.

yunyocamp I love every track on this album. Really brings that cool yet subdued energy that's missing from modern day video games. Favorite track: Go Down.
    undead_wanderer thumbnail
undead_wanderer This is seriously awesome, I didn't expect to find a UT99 soundtrack album on streamings considering what Epic have done to the series. Hoping for a UT2k4 soundtrack overhaul, however unlikely it may be. Favorite track: Skyward Fire.
    K-16 thumbnail
K-16 Thank you, for remembering Unreal Tournament. And you knew EXACTLY how to preserve what we liked about the original songs. It's absolutely familiar, yet rebuilt into something newer and more epic. But it rewards those who wanted nostalgia. It doesn't forget its roots. Love this album. Thank you again, for remembering Unreal Tournament.

jalapenyokai There is a cinematic quality to this album that had me hooked. Gentle melodies get layered with terrific care in each of these tracks. Moonlit Corridors had me begging for more! Hoping to get this on cassette someday. Favorite track: Moonlit Corridors.
    rejoiceinoursufferingfan thumbnail
rejoiceinoursufferingfan A listen that will leave you with a burning curiosity, in deep mysterious entrancement until the music stops and you're pulled back to reality. A strong debut start to finish that, for me, never became tedious or repetitive. A fascinating labor of love from obvious fans of the genre. May this simply be an introduction to a long and fruitful discography. Favorite track: Moonlit Corridors.

    Marvel Cross thumbnail
Marvel Cross this was the first album of yours i was introduced to by a friend. (or rather he pointed at the single version of across the universe on my streaming search. gave it an earnest listen, also a good song.) i was hooked instantly. the heavy riffs, Jim's lovely voice, all of it great. the album version of rust was my favorite, and i understand why you went with a final recording, bit i like the prepro demo better than the album version. Favorite track: Rust (Pre-Production Demo 2015).
