John Almirall I was fortunate enough to catch Yussef Dayess here in Downtown San Diego last year & it was one of the best shows I've seen in years! If you ever get the opportunity to see them live, DON"t SLEEP!

snapmike Discovered thanks to Gilles Peterson showcasing the Black Classical Music album. Absolutely love these live versions. They live in my head as separate songs to the recorded ones. It’s the subtle differences and humanity they each have. Record of the year, easily. Thanks for sharing it. Can’t wait for the vinyl to arrive! I accidentally bought two of the pink one, if any hunters need one, DM me. I’m snapmike on IG. Big up YD & crew 💚 Favorite track: Turquoise Galaxy.

    alextelemark thumbnail
alextelemark This record floors me completely! Absolutely wonderful. The way it ebbs and flows… A combination of a sensitive Philip Glass piece with the new jazz from Matthew Halsall or Claire Cope’s Ensemble C.
This is how I found it by the way - from another jazzfan. SLUGish orchestra also brings me the same kind of peaceful feelings, it makes me feel more at ease in the world. Desperately needed these days!

bluegreyillustrations Meditative and inspiring. There’s something about Dimu and Nightingale that never fails to lift up the spirit. If I had to pick one album to take to a desert island, it would be this one… Favorite track: Dimu.

ajatuslapsi I'm a simple man. I see "Mammal Hands" I press play. Favorite track: Dimu.

Chal when I heard Flea put out a solo album, I didn't imagine it would sound like this, hell, I didn't know what to expect.

listening through this album is like watching a flower bloom, or the sun rise over a still lake. fleeting, but profound. delicate, but capable of knocking you on your ass Favorite track: Thinkin Bout You.
    Jason Russell thumbnail
Jason Russell Flea is such a good human.
    riotgrrrl_meg thumbnail
riotgrrrl_meg I admit I was never a RHCP fan, just never connected with them. But this? Man oh man, this is fire. The layers of Flea just keep going deeper and deeper. The honesty and sincerity of his musical voice is real and it is true. 2026 Album of the Year if I have any say. Favorite track: Frailed.
