jwbstuhr I typically don't prefer piano renderings of Bach, but the execution here is incredible, naturally incorporating the piano's capacity for dynamic articulation. Favorite track: Variatio 30 a 1 Clav. Quodlibet.
    scott thumbnail
scott An absolute delight; Bach is surely smiling in his grave.

drawreadhear yes, Virginia, there is Bach after Gould. as a long time fan of Glenn Gould. his early & late interpretations of the G.V. are unique, wonderful but not matchless. there are many good interpretations.

Ishazaka's interpretations are lively, crisp with beautiful flow and lovely tempi, never draggy nor speed racing but hardly dull uniform. i am decidedly not a musician nor musicologist. that said, to my purely, yet experienced listener's ear this is a singular addition to the overstuffed market

Salvatore Munzone I love how the whole thing was sort of ambiguous about the actual drukq.. until the horse sample at the end of the album telling you ''yeah it was about that all along!'' had me laughing!! ...also last opn album (most probably) couldn't not have it on vinyl! Favorite track: For Residue.
