    AndyW thumbnail
AndyW I am very pleased that there is a new sign of life from this exceptional artist. I like this music and, of course, Tolkien's works. I can highly recommend the album and look forward to perhaps experiencing it live one day. Favorite track: Act V - Born from the Ashes: The First of the Nazgûl.
    evie thumbnail
evie This album is so enchanting. I was not entirely sure what to expect going in, but I was astounded with this whole thing start to finish. Absolutely magical, epic and heartfelt. This is the embodiment of the true power of fantasy synth music and its ability to take us to new worlds.
    The Mighty Sorcerer thumbnail
The Mighty Sorcerer It's so immersive and well crafted that it made me cry emotionally at some point. That's all I have to say about this album. Favorite track: Act VI - Tyalë Elda: The Call of the Undying Lands.

    Nickie Harte Kelly thumbnail
Nickie Harte Kelly Neomedieval folk dungeon synth from an anonymous Salt Lake City composer and musician. There are no credits, but obviously, synths play a part in creating the imaginary worlds this artist conjures up. Plenty of plinkiness here, in a most delightful way, could be harp, harpsichord, or hammered dulcimer, or maybe all three. Let yourself be enchanted. Favorite track: The Knight Of The Elves Blows His Horn.
    iokanaan thumbnail
iokanaan Encore une masterclass pour ce bon vieux Fief ! A écouter sans modération :) Favorite track: Moss Shod Battlements.
    Dave Aftandilian thumbnail
Dave Aftandilian Enchanting melodies that carry the listener far beyond the mundane to explore worlds of starry-sparkling magic and mystery. I love the almost hammer dulcimer-like percussive feel to the keyboards, and appreciate even more the lightness listening to them brings my spirit in these dark end of empire days.

    Arpad Okay thumbnail
Arpad Okay this is the sunrise heralding the end of an all-nighter. gentle cinematic victorious afterglow that melts pop songs over a video game skillet. the driving, head bobbing, big smile jams are all assembled from club music parts, but the vibe bounces from track to track, half of it beat generation midtempo steps and half of it gothy snes vaporwave. a sonic treat. reverb and precision. clean without being slick. a lot of personality but consistently focused on a sonic target. musical storytelling Favorite track: Hexagon Of Death.

Molly When I listen to this album, my heart sings back in reply. Favorite track: The End Is Now.
    lapislantern thumbnail
lapislantern It's become a bit of a ritual for me to listen to this whenever I take the train away from my childhood home, so it's become an emotional album for me. Every time I'm struck by the immersion, the storytelling, the sheer range... Favorite track: Saddest Worm Ever.
    _futant thumbnail
_futant It's my favourite album in a long time... hard to pick a track. Saddest Worm Ever maybe? The Worm? Wyrmlands? They're the obvious choices. But the sad songs have me crying and the ending has me on my knees praying to a god I don't believe in. I love the concept, I love the callbacks to War of the Worlds and Nina Simone, I just love it. I also love its brevity - means listening twice through always happens. EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT FLESH FLESH FLESH FLESH FLESH FLESH FLESH FLESH

    RJ thumbnail
RJ Hoplites’ third release of 2023 and the finale of some sort of demented trilogy of anger, dread, and chaos. Pure dissonant worship delivered as a panic attack in the form of a sledgehammer blow straight to your eardrum. 7/10 Favorite track: Ἀντιτιμώρημα.

    Ego Broken thumbnail
Ego Broken The first track alone is worth getting the full album. The menacing dissonance of the opening chord coming in waves is up there with the best names in ambient music. But then with each listen the whole album unfolds and here's a very inspired release. This is so masterfully crafted and sounds incredibly well. Hats off. Favorite track: We Once Believed We Owned The Sky.
    G Norton thumbnail
G Norton Really fine release, feel let down when it's over. Would act well as a film soundtrack. Favorite track: A Sorrow Unrequited.

    brantly thumbnail
brantly A beautifully melancholy collection of beatific, measured drones, subtle, pensive Eno-isms, surreptitious crackling ambiance and sedulously unfolding layered synths that coalesce into a staggering record of darkly tinged splendor! Long dog walks with headphones are highly recommended accompaniments to this LP!
    hangruan thumbnail
hangruan This is one of my favorite albums of all time. The music on this album is an organic being that is alive, dynamic, and unknowable. Favorite track: No Tomorrow.
    G Norton thumbnail
G Norton Really an amazing record, and glad to have gotten it on vinyl. The soundscapes are very thick and varied, but ultimately end up as a cohesive collection. Thanks Black Swan. Favorite track: The Space Between.
