mgill I wasn't sure at first if I liked this album as much as Meet Me After Practice, but that's a very high bar because that has been my favourite album since it dropped and emotionally supported me during a horrible time. I decided to listen to this one 400 more times to really be sure I got a good impression of it, and it slaps, folks. Picking a favourite track is like picking a favourite sunset, I did it, but understand that they are all beautiful. Favorite track: Flying Machine.

Daniel Welsch Hana Vu ist viel zu jung und zu traurig, um ihre Jugend zu verklären. Dennoch weint sie ihr – mit Anfang 20 und damit an der Schwelle zu einer neuen Phase – bereits hinterher. „I’m just getting old/ I’m just twenty-two“, wiederholt Hana Vu in der Coda von „22“. Sie singt das mit so viel Inbrunst, lässt die Gitarre so herzzerreißend wimmern, dass man ihr die Klage übers Altwerden abnimmt.

    BobandoCommando thumbnail
BobandoCommando A good friend showed me this album and I ordered the record as soon as I heard Hammer. She has a beautiful, deep voice that perfectly contrasts the upbeat, pop beats of a lot of the album's songs. I cannot wait to discover more of her music. Favorite track: Look Alive.

    saint-bepis thumbnail
saint-bepis I've really enjoyed this album and I'm very excited to get the physical release as well. Great moody jazz/funk composition, sultry vocals, and late night Tokyo vibes to lose yourself in. I've loved puniden's work as a featured artist (especially her collabs with Moe Shop) and I'm really excited to see her solo work lead out so strong. I wish her all the success in the future! Favorite track: 君はQueen - Remastered.
    hurtbreakwonder thumbnail
hurtbreakwonder i hear the piano chords hit and just want to run around downtown at night and stare at the city lights. that guitar lick in the background, the vocals, the light piano staccato -- it's just such a mood and really gets me happy whenever i hear it Favorite track: 君はQueen - Remastered.

jasonchebib ‘Scarecrow II’ is insanely chock full of earworm hooks and jangle chords chiming like bells. It plants both feet firmly in the British C86 era of Razorcuts, Chesterfields and Mighty Mighty, and stays pure to that tradition whilst also being perfectly of today. My favorite lyric is, “Fell asleep at the wheel of the car I stole.” My favorite track changes daily; today it’s ’Be Right Down.” Can’t recommend this LP highly enough. Favorite track: Be Right Down.
    hcarges thumbnail
hcarges Gorgeous record. Love the occasional strings as well. Overall, great song-writing shimmering through the jangle and given a little extra weight by some super tasty arrangements. Favorite track: Battle of Blythe Road.

zhangtastic So, many different sticky melodies! These songs just gives you a sense of freedom. Favorite track: I Don’t Want to Fight.
    gay4picard thumbnail
gay4picard Another masterpiece that further evolves the “what if you made the whole plane out of the black box” musical approach of the first & the charm record. Favorite track: How Dare This Beer.
    ksvtguy thumbnail
ksvtguy After bingeing on the three previously released tracks for weeks, I've played the entire album twice already today and can't wait until the next listen. & the Charm was one of my two or three favorite albums of the past five years, and this new one is as least as good. Catchy and accessible yet smart and very deep, musically and lyrically. In a better world, this is a universal #1 album. Avalon is phenomenal.
