  1. The Line That Shapes the Coast of Us
    by Chalk Hands
    supported by
    Adam Andrade thumbnail
Adam Andrade A very genuine and heartfelt band that will succeed in putting you in your feels Favorite track: Ember Lane.
    Nando Rodrigues thumbnail
Nando Rodrigues The Line That Shapes the Coast of Us is one of those records that feels less like a collection of songs and more like a full emotional journey. From start to finish, Chalk Hands create a sound that moves between fragile, atmospheric moments and overwhelming walls of intensity, never losing its sense of purpose. Favorite track: Ember Lane.
    rettisawesome thumbnail
rettisawesome Big and powerful, but intimate and emotional. It's more mature than Don't Think About Death with many more introspective moments that don't impede the forward momentum at all. When they are pumping full bore, feels like your hanging on for dear life in the best way. Favorite track: Ember Lane.

    DeadNightMoonlight thumbnail
DeadNightMoonlight No one Band that I'm aware of has mixed Black Metal with Deathrock to such a level of Perfection as Nourishment.

Everything these guys have done is nothing short of Fucking Brilliant, in my own humble opinion.

    Highly Recommended as always!!!

Eric Gedenk An all-time great math rock album.
    Deidre House thumbnail
Deidre House Frantic, complex, and at times heavy rock and roll. It's instrumental, with the exception of the closing track that features some really nice guest vocals and ironically is my favorite track on the whole thing. Favorite track: People Staying Awake.

OneTinOpener This is profoundly beautiful. What a journey it is to listen. It's an eyes closed head nodding, piece of wonder. Amazing. Buy it - your soul will embrace you.
    LazerCat619 thumbnail
LazerCat619 This is some of most beautiful and memorable music I've ever experienced and is my favorite album that released in 2025. Favorite track: Els.
    ajatuslapsi thumbnail
ajatuslapsi As a big Mammal Hands fan I thought this sounds really familiar and then I found out it actually IS Jordan Smart AND Milo Fitzpatrick (Portico Quartet). Umm why hasn't anyone told me about this duo before?! How did I miss this? Never mind, christmas came early this year.

    Nicholas Barang thumbnail
Nicholas Barang When you've listened to as much metal as I have over the last few decades, you think you're going to reach a point when you've heard it all.

But you really haven't and this band has the wonderful habit of delighting me anew with every record.

This is another masterpiece and it's barely been off rotation since the day I picked it up. Heavily recommended. Favorite track: My Ashen Hope.
    sashavonkarl74 thumbnail
sashavonkarl74 Indonesia would not strike as the home of some atmo-black at first, but on the other hand, there are some truly amazing bands (e.g. Santet) and one-manned projects in Indonesia, case in point, Soulless!
Like others have said, intoxicating melodies, very rich and immersive atmosphere.
FFO Dusk In Silence, or on the other side of Java, Pure Wrath. Favorite track: The Supreme Resurgence.
    bythesword thumbnail
bythesword Absolutely soul crushingly beautiful. One of the best atmo black albums ever made. Just a straight up classic. Favorite track: My Ashen Hope.

Alice M. Random suggestion from the Art as Catharsis label guy. At times it sounds like… djent with a harp instead of a guitar? This is really cool. My only regret is not finding out about this stuff before the “unusual instruments” episode of the webradio thingy I co-host.
    robertusmaximus thumbnail
robertusmaximus Love the harp! Favorite track: Obverse I.
    kijojoki thumbnail
kijojoki I love that moment in Obverse IV at 2:19 when it takes off! Favorite track: Obverse IV.
