    by Nation of Language
    supported by
    opulentossuary thumbnail
opulentossuary Wistful and upbeat at the same time! I love this album. Favorite track: Silhouette.
    Gary Figueroa thumbnail
Gary Figueroa Off-kilter and yet melodic. I dig the song because of its challenging phrasing, ghosted vox, and subtle syncopation. Brilliant for all that melds into a cohesive whole synth-pop song. Great album, too. I love the LPs cover art very much! - @daFigz™ Favorite track: I'm Not Ready for the Change.
    emmahums thumbnail
emmahums Don't know if I will ever take it off repeat... Nation of Language does it again with their lush synths, bass and vocals. Favorite track: I'm Not Ready for the Change.

  2. Apocalypse (Ten Year Anniversary Edition)
    by Thundercat
    supported by
    kenan thumbnail
Favorite track: Lotus and the Jondy.

  1. Another Leaf
by Genevieve Artadi with Norrbotten Big Band
    featured track 00:00/00:00
    Life Exploder Life Exploder
    supported by
    Bradley Parker thumbnail
Bradley Parker Beautiful new songs, beautiful redone old songs. So many of the expressive sections sound so great with the texture and scale of real big band instruments. This version of "I Know"s latter half is so electric I feel so alive hearing it. wonderful way to experience familiar songs Favorite track: I Know.
    Toxic Al thumbnail
Toxic Al There's a lot going on here! Intricate arrangements, complicated harmonies, high levels of groove, and an aggressive energy - but all within a context that you can groove out and sing along to. I found out about Genevieve Artadi through her excellent work with Louis Cole, who I found out about through HIS excellent work with Thundercat. So glad to have stumbled onto these superhumans! Favorite track: Life Exploder.
    squareape thumbnail
squareape This is a quality recording combined with a naturalistic production. Vocals sound clear and detailed. The band plays well rehearsed and with confident improv. Sometimes I wish Louis would have opened up the drum sound in a big band setting as his playing has aspects of buddy. Great composition selection and tasteful singing! Favorite track: From Avalanche.

  2. Fearless Movement
    by Kamasi Washington
    featured track 00:00/00:00
    Get Lit Get Lit
    supported by
    CobraRoll thumbnail
CobraRoll A genuinely satisfying release, which sees Kamasi Washington at his loosest and most playful. Songs like Lesanu, Prologue, and Asha the First just rip with some of the most fun passages of the decadd thus far, while many of the slower songs like Dreamstate, Lines in the Sand, and Together are just deeply satisfying with their magical progressions and their larger than life yet grounded vibe. Favorite track: Prologue.
    tomsha-fan thumbnail
tomsha-fan Strong artistic identity, I appreciate the mix of refinement and raw spontaneity
    Tom Colquhoun thumbnail
Tom Colquhoun If Heaven and Earth felt like Kamasi's coronation as an all-time jazz icon, then Fearless Movement feels like a Roman Triumph with laurels, accolades, and Andre 3000. Lengthwise this is practically a pop album by Washington's standards, but it still feels majestic, huge and rich with variety and themes, accentuated by the range of collaborators and guests he brings on. The album ends with such huge momentum, leaving me hungry for more. It's truly exciting to be living in the time of Kamasi. Favorite track: Prologue.

Touch Me I'm Sick Touch Me I'm Sick
    supported by
    dbuckner82 thumbnail
dbuckner82 This is a band commonly associated with Grunge, but they are not limited to that category at all. Each album is its own unique experience. Superfuzz Bigmuff goes back to the very early days of heavy distortion, punk inspired lyrics, and that ever-humorous oeuvre that has made Mudhoney one of the greats. Favorite track: Touch Me I'm Sick.
