    metalmachinemusic some new unique tracks from NYC's poet on the run. also some re-recorded tracks from Lights on Broadway. Where that album felt more traditional rock n roll, Amrans family band brings a more folk/country vibe which ultimately makes it sound more like hes found his voice. if I had to pick one album to introduce a friend to Amrans family band, it would be this one, plus badlands (why isn't it on the album? that song is awesome!) that being said i do prefere The original recording of Town Shut down Favorite track: Walking Backwards.

    Charlie Byers This was really my favorite album of last year. I saw Dean Johnson open for Kurt Vile right before this one came out, and I was hooked. smart, gorgeous songwriting and a lot of style. like Gene Autry doing Paul Simon covers, or something. "Dad music" in the best way.
