wayward_cloud OSC are rapidly becoming one of my favourite artists. The emotional range of their material is extraordinary. There are moments in this recording that remind me of Jean Michel Jarre's ethereal high concept soundscapes (Magnetic Fields in particular). But there are also moments of a kind of midi inflected lounge jazz playfulness that brings to mind the soundtrack to one of my favourite games of all time: Hotel Dusk. The music is utterly dynamic, constantly oscillating between these two poles. Favorite track: 1st Movement - Snowcapped.

Rob Dyson 🎧 Not long after this epic masterpiece came out, I was in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, so got to listen to it amidst the snow-blanketed mountains. One of my now most precious memories. Everything OSC does is driven by challenging himself, working across genres, and producing masterclasses in melody and mood. This is an exemplary album, and the extra Donor Lens track (added March 2024) is chef's kiss.

StanK This is already in the running for my favorite instrumental album of 2023...I just received the cassette and it is glorious.

Eli I was first drawn to the Rat Queen by her image alone, but when I heard her voice and the music of the realm, I instantly fell in love with all things Castle Rat. They are easily one of my favorite bands of all time. All is forever, in this realm!!! I seriously can’t get enough of them; it’s the band I’ve been searching for my whole life. Epic, just absolutely fucking epic in every aspect! I will forever serve the Rat Queen. Favorite track: WIZARD.
