James McNally Perfect synth pop from the former Veronica Falls front woman. Is there anything she can't do? Favorite track: Living Things Don't Last.

smokencoffee It is a beautiful look into soul music. Not the usual soul music, but soul music in the form of different music types, but yet all tied together. Rhiannon Giddens music is powerful and touches the soul. Favorite track: You Louisiana Man.

Moreplease A rigid yet wiggly dark indie jazz prog thing. Pretty sweet. First track is by far the best and I wish they'd go more in that direction. Favorite track: Saint.
    Ryan Hamilton thumbnail
Ryan Hamilton This found me at the right time Favorite track: Destroyer.
    Grant thumbnail
Grant immediate, indelible neo-psychedelic motifs in budding abundance. an ascendant sonic wish fulfilled—like angular harmonies between Mary Timony (Helium) and Stephe Cooper (CBYH). one of the best records of 2024 Favorite track: Lost Lunar One.
    fergjo00 thumbnail
fergjo00 The rhythms and melody line changes.... dream pop-like or maybe shoe gaze next gen? with some discordant sounds at times. Favorite track: Destroyer.

    Carsten Pieper thumbnail
Carsten Pieper Incredibly good second album by this Copenhagen based project. Strong songs and amazingly rich arrangements (the album cover or the "band liner notes" give a hint, that we shouldn't expect "by the numbers" music here). Multiple kinds of folk, jazz, blues, pop, rock are integrated in a mesmerizing whole, brilliantly recorded, again (24-96)!

Hard to choose a fav. Expecting next to nothing from the coming climate summit, stupid humans that we are, I went for "We Owe it to the Planet"... Favorite track: We Owe It to the Planet.

    magoski thumbnail
    magoski you know,
    it's easy to blame
    but truth is
    I don't dare
    spare
    but a moment
this disjointed explanation is spontaneously created out of thin air
    there
    is
    a chasm that can't be
    jumped
    it s an eternity
    to me
    wanting &
    needing
    Look
    ing Down
    into the abyss
wantng to see the river far below
    needing to Be
    in those waters below
    Favorite track: Eternity.
