    Der Brecher thumbnail
Der Brecher I normally don't say things about vocals. I just care more about instruments & songwriting. And while both are quite exceptionally done here, it's the fucking VOCALS, that give this thing the last shove into the realm of absolute greatness for me. I mean what the hell is he DOING??? Arrrrrrrgh!!! Now look: I know that this will probably be totally different for you. But you know what? I don't care. Buy this for whatever reason you like, but don't miss out on it. Exceptionally good.

    Eric Devin thumbnail
Eric Devin Excellent! Maybe a notch below Rime but still another outstanding example of Austin's work!
    tomazp thumbnail
tomazp There are no missteps when it comes to Panopticon. The journey has wound as a life does: from rage to resolve, from despair to wonder. From Collapse through Kentucky, from Scars through Laurentian Blue, there has existed a promise of Panopticon fully integrating the disparate elements of Crust, Black, Folk, Doom, and Bluegrass, the themes of nature, political action and personal struggles. Here is Panopticon, perhaps finally fully realized in the new guise of a storyteller. Wonderful. Favorite track: Ghost Eyes in the Fire Light.
    Harold N’Hiver thumbnail
Harold N’Hiver I just turned 50. I have always cared about this world and I still do. But as I age it gets ever harder to give a fuck, especially as the world continues to spiral into greater depravity on a daily basis.

BUT - I have 3 children who will inherit what I leave behind, and every time a Panopticon release drops, and Austin writes, “Don’t let the fire burn out,” I am reminded that I am called upon to care more then ever, and to fight. This man’s records call me to that struggle

Thank you, Austin. Favorite track: A Culture of Wilderness.

F̲̜̲̂ṷ̖͒̔t̨͉̠͒u̼̟͑ͅr̷̫̝̍e̶̲͔̐ ̖͔͌͜E̯͕̕͝y̢̪̟͞ē̛̙͞s̡̰͛̄ Takes me back to a simpler time of war metal, this is still one of the most visceral displays of wretched blackened atmosphere mixed with sick, angular grind that leaves you headless. The best 36 min of blackened war grind you can spend. Favorite track: Bodies Set In Ashen Death.
    François thumbnail
François COIL was/is already something else. And so is its unrelated INFERNAL companion. Timelessness flowing through...

  5. May Our Chambers Be Full
by Emma Ruth Rundle & Thou
    supported by
    Tom Colquhoun thumbnail
Tom Colquhoun ERR's mesmering and unsettling voice soars uneasily above the swamp of Thou's diabolickally heavy riffs, and Funck's tortured snarls. Confidence and ease radiate from the opening chords of Killing Floor; both parties know how fucking well they work together, and aren't afraid to slow down and let their majesty reign. Favorite track: Killing Floor.
    Jasmin_A. thumbnail
Jasmin_A. OMG...love this Masterpiece of Collaboration beautyfull Album🖤 ERR always triggers Feelings for good...
Favourite Track: the Valley Favorite track: The Valley.
    scud_attack thumbnail
scud_attack The contrast between the rawness of Thou and the melancholic, ethereal vocals of Emma Ruth Rundle is equally brutal and beautiful. Favorite track: Ancestral Recall.

Donovan Zimmerman With the sheer volume of releases from Damian, I can't say I've heard every Trha release, but this one sticks out to me as the best of the lot. Really good.
    porcelainheart- thumbnail
porcelainheart- Wow, colors! This is probably the first Trhä release I've seen with a colorful cover. And it matches the music. This is a deviation from the normally frenetic and unhinged quality of earlier Trhä releases, there's a hopeful, uplifting and triumphant quality to this. Favorite track: den si∫cato£ nene.
    𝙅𝙤𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙡 thumbnail
𝙅𝙤𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙡 What an album. The riffs, the tones, the twists and turns changing from joy to sorrow and raging cathartic bursts. A definition of post-post metal. Almost makes me cry at some points. Masterful art. Favorite track: zuj.

sashavonkarl74 Take a mix of classic, guttural and epic Abhorrence & Demigod, add a hint of keyboard, a pummelling drumming and pace changes to keep things surprising, and you get maybe a slight idea of what this masterpiece will bring!

Can you imagine these guys sharing a stage with REEKING AURA?? Favorite track: FUNEBRARUM - The Whispering Cathedral - Epilogue.
Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass) thumbnail
Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass) An incredible return after almost two decades, and perhaps their best yet. Stellar production and performances all around. Favorite track: FUNEBRARUM - Through the Barren Halls of Grieving Emptiness.

Quill Brutality prefaced by a grand and terrible introduction, and punctuated by a bewitching interlude. Favorite track: FUNEBRARUM - Through the Barren Halls of Grieving Emptiness.

Jono Schneider Definitely the best Panopticon record that I’ve heard. Deep stuff, guitar playing is particularly excellent. Favorite track: The Great Silence, Extinct.
    Endless Metal Podcast thumbnail
Endless Metal Podcast This is an incredible album that for years I had been hoping for. It takes you on a deep, fully realized sonic journey where you can lose yourself in from beginning to end. I have spun it four times now. While I appreciate earlier Panopticon records a lot, for me, this is by far Austin’s best, most emotionally devastating album to date. A stunning achievement 🔥
    Ryan Johanson thumbnail
Ryan Johanson Holy shit. All the "album of the year" hype has been well earned with this one. Favorite track: Blood and Fur Upon the Melting Snow.
