  1. The Healer
    by SUMAC
    supported by
    Sam thumbnail
Sam Being in the same room as these guys while they play was fucking amazing, so much talent and wonderful noise. I love other projects by each member but this album feels like each's best work, respectfully. Favorite track: Yellow Dawn.
    Urso X thumbnail
Urso X I've spent days listening and trying to come up with a coherent and original review for this stunning album, but I seem to be at a loss for words (a rarity for me). The most cogent thing I can say that hasn't already been said is that SUMAC's musical evolution and sprawling, semi-improvisational style strongly calls to mind a metal version of the critically acclaimed late 8os/early 90s post-rock pioneers Talk Talk. Singular artists, uncompromising vision, every album a masterpiece. Transcendent! Favorite track: Yellow Dawn.
    chandlerhank thumbnail
chandlerhank This album is a 10/10 all the way through, defining the dotted line of experimental. Favorite track: The Stone's Turn.

  2. Gods Without Name
    by AORATOS
    supported by
    kommander696 thumbnail
kommander696 AORATOS is the culmination of nightmare fuel and sheer terror in aural form! A must have for fans of brutal blackened death metal that specialises in ferocity of insane riffs, horrific vocals and blazing blast beats. Recommended especially to those who enjoy the sounds of Akhlys, Blut Aus Nord & Lvcifyre \m/ No favourite track as this album is perfection start to end then start over again, ad nauseam! A MUST own!
    lord_byleth thumbnail
lord_byleth Haunting and occult black metal. Very close to Akhlys with a different concept. Lyrics are very good and obscure, making me think of the colour of madness. One of the best album of 2019. Favorite track: Thresher.
    bmurator thumbnail
bmurator US Black Metal. This is a brain child of the extremely talented artist Alcameth. First came Nightbringer then Bestia Arcana & then this & finally Akhlys' Melinoë, unless I am mistaken... Every time Alcameth refined his utter destruction formula into something even better & more efficient. This & Melinoë both slay anyone & anything in their way! Truly scary BM that will blow your mind! Highly recommended!!!

plunk spencer back with the best guitar licks like ever and zach is just zach, 100% thinks their nicest and cleanest sounding album, somewhat chill at moments and it's just overall a great listen, not much else to say, hella is just being hella Favorite track: Yubacore.

    by SUMAC
    supported by
    Jono Schneider thumbnail
Jono Schneider While I truly love how SUMAC have continued to chase their sound as it races against time through the jungle, this earlier one may be my favorite record of theirs. So fucking heavy. A howl for all humankind at the brutal light of eternity. Favorite track: Image of Control.
    Alice M. thumbnail
Alice M. Weird: I thought I had tried this at some point and could not get into it; now I like it a lot.
Aaron Turner and his friends make it sound like Isis’ evil twin or something.
    mattgraupman thumbnail
mattgraupman This album is abusively heavy, like a gigantic glacier slowly crushing everything in its path. You don't listen to this, you surrender to it. Favorite track: Blackout.

Just As The Day Was Dawning Just As The Day Was Dawning
    supported by
    Levrikon thumbnail
Levrikon How Big Business can make such a gigantic sound with just bass and drums is a mystery, and it really shows how talented these two are. Draw a straight line from grungy pranksters KARP to latter-day Melvins via Big Business, since Jared Warren played bass in all 3. Favorite track: Another Fourth of July...Ruined.
    6ONE6 thumbnail
6ONE6 "And now nothing grows" - Love this tune, Heavy Rotation Favorite track: Grounds For Divorce.
    sm.noise thumbnail
sm.noise This is without a doubt my favorite Big Biz album. The songs are punishing, one right after the other. Super heavy drums and fuzzy bass with vocals and lyrics that are absolutely unique to this band. Get this and be happy. Favorite track: Grounds For Divorce.

    honeycombguy thumbnail
honeycombguy I like the stripped back heaviness of post-hardcore's sludgier side, and I like the unconventional rhythms of math rock. Turns out putting those two things together makes for one hell of a cool album. Favorite track: Driver's Bread.
    jim_fuego thumbnail
jim_fuego Been nodding along all day to this! An impressive progression from Keelhaul II - no power sacrificed by the crisper production. Favorite track: Driver's Bread.

cgessler5577 I love this album like how badass and satanic it sounds. only problem: I can't listen to digital album. When the record arrives maybe it will be different or I can record the vinyl. 🤞
