  1. Starship Syncopation
    by Cory Wong
    supported by
    Xanderizer thumbnail
Xanderizer MASTERPIECE. Incredible that we can still be blessed with superbly orchestrated, incredibly groovy and eternally catchy music like this in an otherwise fake, artificial and grim musical era.

I chose Burning for the drum trades and the explosive ending, but I could have chosen all of them!

Cory for president! Favorite track: Burning.

ahumblecardamompod I truly can't stop listening to this album. Favorite track: Starship Syncopation.

Jay Jordan Glog doesn't miss. Top notch album. Favorite track: Pale Waltz.
    Old Shadow Sorcerer thumbnail
Old Shadow Sorcerer Lord of the 4th Wind is a really great Dungeon Synth album, I recommend it to anyone who likes magical and mysterious atmospheres. Favorite track: Aeromancer.
    Dave Aftandilian thumbnail
Dave Aftandilian Understated but continually intriguing ethereal dungeon synth. The ice cave reflects your torchlight from countless facets, yet still there are deep shadows lurking, dancing, creeping. Emerging into the blue desert, you see arabesques twirling in turquoise sands; lavender lizards with orange highlights sunning themselves on periwinkle rocks; sharp-winged indigo swallows dipping and diving above the hidden oasis.

  3. The Bestiary
    by Castle Rat
    supported by
    Christian thumbnail
Christian I absolutely love this album. One of the best modern doom metal albums in recent memory. Excellent vocal work, great droning guitars, and an awesome fantasy backdrop to boot. Very reminiscent of the Sword but with more haunting vocals. Favorite track: CRYSTAL CAVE.
    Sprenzee thumbnail
Sprenzee Castle Rat makes me want Golden Axe to be my true reality. Favorite track: WIZARD.
    Sun. Disappear thumbnail
Sun. Disappear Castle Rat are absolutely killing it.

They’ve put in the time and paid an absolute fuck ton of dues.

I’ve seen them being disparaged in the Doom community over some misconceived lack of “riffs”. 🙄

Castle Rat are arguably 10x more Metal than 80% of whatever else that happens to pass as “metal” these days.

    🤘🏼 Favorite track: SUN SONG.

  4. The Shape of Medieval Music to Come
    by Vox Vulgaris

    Talon Godin thumbnail
Talon Godin What a wonderful interpretation of medieval music! This is a must-have for anyone interested in tunes from the days of old, albeit with a modern touch. 10/10 Favorite track: Rókátanc.
    abi 🛸🎻 thumbnail
abi 🛸🎻 A vibrant and dynamic take on medieval music! Delivering these tunes and their variations within a slow, almost trance-like percussive buildup is genius. It feels really human, like I'm sitting in on a folk session and watching the players pass the song around between them. Highly recommended!! Favorite track: Cantiga 166.
    Ignacio de Miguel Diaz thumbnail
Ignacio de Miguel Diaz Vox Vulgaris' "The Shape of Medieval Music to Come" brilliantly fuses ancient and modern. This Swedish ensemble breathes new life into medieval melodies, crafting a sonic journey both authentic and innovative. From haunting ballads to lively dances, each track showcases masterful musicianship and deep respect for early music, reimagined for contemporary ears. Favorite track: Saltarello 3.

spacciathemax Ciao a tutti! This is a great CD: 1640 by the German band Whirlwind. The historical concept and powerful music create a really positive vibe for the listener. I really like these guys because, while they follow the path blazed by 80s bands like Running Wild, Heaven’s Gate, X-Wild, and Iced Earth, they don't just copy them. They’ve developed their own well-defined sound. They aren't quite on the level of Triumpher or Eternal Champion yet, but they’ll get there with time because they are damn good. Favorite track: Winds Of Ash And Dust.

snailworks After a LOT of Fraudsanity, it's here. Absolutely awesome soundtrack, my favourite I can't even decide from the 8-3 bunch, probably The Shattering Circle and Event Horizon being in a tie, with The Fall not very far behind. Favorite track: The Shattering Circle, or: A Charade of Shadeless Ones and Zeroes Rearranged ad Nihilum.

opal_girlie I managed to fall asleep listening to this, so it's very calming. Also, I love the transitions between the tracks, please do that for treachery and later it's so amazing :3 Favorite track: No Devil Lived On.
