mikaellind Very minimal, but just lovely. The instrumentation is gorgeous. This whole album has been on repeat lately. Favorite track: Sections 74-87.
    Matt Johnsen thumbnail
Matt Johnsen I've enjoyed all of Erik Hall's minimalist releases, but this one is the best. His arrangement of the piece is gorgeous, and the timbral variation of the strings, woodwinds, and mallet percussion make this my favorite recording of Canto Ostinato by a long shot. The recording is gorgeous, too - a true masterpiece!

by Ak’chamel, The Givers of Illness
    supported by
    Gill Squeezer thumbnail
Gill Squeezer The chants and insane screams that transform into a calm sorrowful melody of this album really made my invisible bones tingle with a newfound joy. Favorite track: My Ouija Board Spelt S-C-A-M.
    The Dusk Chapel thumbnail
The Dusk Chapel Imagine if Kemialliset Ystävät took a dark turn during a bad acid trip and joined Sun City Girls for an impromptu jam session that ended with summoning Nyarlathotep the Crawling Chaos and you'll be somewhere in the vicinity of the realm Ak'chamel has been residing for a while now.
    Adam Cohen thumbnail
Adam Cohen There's an addictive quality that keeps me coming back. Dreamlike, timeless and entrancing. Like unearthing a strange relic from some long forgotten burial ground. The high strangeness of this is not just convincing, it's palpable...and utterly enjoyable.

Karl Ward I have been waiting 40 years for this record--OK, 39 years and 10 months, but who's counting? Forsyth is dragging us into the future, which happens to pass right through the mid-80s. You will love this. Favorite track: Nerve Time.

Marco Baroni This is the best collection of gospel music I ever heard, with the right mixture of old and (relatively) new (until the fifties), black and white, rural and urban. The liner notes (included in the download) are great.

sashavonkarl74 Thank you Edged Circle for the sale reduced price on this CD, it isn't the Norwegian's finest work, we all know that it is more mellow and melodic than its predecessors, but the opportunity to grab the CD was too good to let go. Still, one cannot deny that the riffs are still sharp and the whole album has its great moments of catchy glory. Favorite track: Death Reigns.
