    Rory Bell thumbnail
Rory Bell Got into these after seeing the video for As A Dad. Immediately sought out more & wondered how TF I'd missed them first time around. Top notch noise rock, great lyrics. Really highly recommended. Favorite track: as a dad.
    Brent Davis thumbnail
Brent Davis are mcLusky noise-rockers? if indeed they are, only the jesus lizard can give them a serious run-for-their-money in terms of eccentricity.

    brilliant!

midst Quietus I love this album because it's my favorite album to listen too while I am skating. It is my absolute favorite album. And I cannot get enough of it. From it's completely unique sound to it's album cover.
    Dean 'AKI' Heathcote thumbnail
Dean 'AKI' Heathcote Found I just kept streaming it, and wondered why I hadn't got it to listen to on the move. It deserved some love. Some amazing little songs... Favorite track: Home.
    Travis May thumbnail
Travis May Awesome. I guess it's pop punk/post hardcore but either way these got have it. I don't know what "it" is but hey got it. Favorite track: Lost Boys.

    Trippo thumbnail
Trippo I think this might be the best Mystery Lights album so far. They've channeled their signature anachronistic sound into some very unique and interesting areas on this one, and the singer seems to be doing his damnedest to channel the late great Scottish singer Alex Harvey's pre-Sensational Alex Harvey Band music (like Roman Wall Blues or The Joker Is Wild), particulary on the track "Snuck Out". I'm having a hard time picking a favorite on this one, I love it start to front!
    yeahyeahbiu thumbnail
yeahyeahbiu I heard Memories on the radio and loved the "elastic" groove of the song. I also always come back to Can't sleep through the silence and Cerebral Crack, kind of hypnotic. Very cool album, a bit messy but in a nice way. Lots of good energy. Favorite track: Cerebral Crack.

Tom D So happy to see a reissue of this album! Any chance you will reissue the first 7” that had a slower version of Cheer Up? Bought that from you when you played at the Veterans Hall in Placerville long ago and it’s one of my favorites. Would love a digital version.
    Rip Masterson thumbnail
Rip Masterson Circa 1999 I saw these guys at Coney Island High and bought the very last copy of this CD that they had with them on tour. It was the best 10 bucks I ever spent and the record has been a shoulder for me to cry on through some extremely difficult times. I have unapologetically shared it illegally with anyone who's ever mentioned American Steel to me because it's IMO the best front-to-back album they've released and it's been hella out of print. Favorite track: It's Too Bloody Anyway.

Maeaby This is one of my favorite records of the past few years. Truly amazing ska/punk records don't come along often and this is one of them. Thank you FRS! 🩷 Favorite track: Witch's Streak.
    Confectionatrix thumbnail
Confectionatrix This one hits all the sounds i love. Nasty horns, passionate singing, great lyrics. Play this one to wash dishes to. Favorite track: Swan Song.
    Bart thumbnail
Bart From New Orleans big brass to death metal...this ska album has it all. It all makes sense and blends together so well. I absolutely loved this band's last album, and this is better across all metrics. Absolutely going to be near the top of any "Best of 2023" list for me. Favorite track: Sunflower.

lloydd I agree the songs on this record are as pure and honest as it gets. The songwriting remind me of Springsteen, the vocals Petty. Americana at it's finest. Favorite track: The Earth In One Cell.
    LittleSeasonist thumbnail
LittleSeasonist Dark Americana, the way it's done. Plenty of moody atmosphere & emotional gravity that'll have you fitting concrete shoes just in case. Nate Hall is one that I shall remember henceforth
