   Xtra Happy A greatly underrated modern prog rock album that harkens back to the classic staple sounds of its 70's forebearers, while mixing it with folky and pop sensibilities to make for some wonderfully warm and enchanting textures
   
   Hooky ballads like 'Ode To The Summer' and 'Promise Me' mix with odd time-signatured jams like 'Night Shaped Light' and 'Edge Of The Earth', and the long, psychy 'Paradise Lost' continues a trend from Syd Arthur's previous EPs of having a grand epic closer
   
   Highly recommended Favorite track: Paradise Lost.

   

   muschiosauro Within the realm of prog, Canterbury sound always had two distinct souls - one leaning towards intricate jazzy experimentations, the other flirting with quaint rock and uncoventional pop with a warm, mellow, romantic/nostalgic scent. On An On brings together the best of both worlds without musical on-an-isms, reviving the classic Canterbury Sound and taking it to the 21st century with great originality, personality and superb songwriting. Favorite track: Ode To The Summer.

   nctwl Toby Driver et al continue to be one of the most interesting groups in the avante garde space. My favorite KD/TD release in a while, not for lack of competition. Favorite track: Closet Door in the Room Where She Died.

   

   Metallurgical Fire Toby Driver may be the purest musician alive. He just doesn’t care whether he makes you uncomfortable. He isn’t afraid to do things vocally that would embarrass the shit out of a lesser talent. I don’t feel like I’m listening to a product when I hear this. It’s like I’m hearing someone’s soul speaking in the language of music. There’s nothing like it. Favorite track: Oracle By Severed Head.
