Nicole Mitchell I'm certain that this album will stay my favorite record of 2023. Niescier's compositions are exhilaratingly fresh. Reid's electronic processing to her cello brings a new edge to her sound and Harris' virtuosity propels the music into flight. The communication between the trio is almost telepathic. This album is a driving force of relentless imagination with three of the most exciting creative instrumentalists today.

I had recently read "Can the Subaltern Speak?" by Gayatri Spivak. Very dense. So naturally the title "Dance of the Subaltern" caught my eyes and the entire album and Amirtha's voice and other work my ears. Favorite track: Dance of the Subaltern.
