  1. Waking The Dead, Live In Japan 2005
    by ANEKDOTEN
    supported by
    Alrihkh thumbnail
Alrihkh FFO Anathema, Radiohead, Godsticks, & King Crimson (of course). Sure wish this one had The War Is Over on it. That would’ve been the icing on this tasty cake. Nevertheless, this is a sumptuous prog album & performance. One of my treasured finds, for sure. One to savour. A great one to trance out to. Thanks! Anekdoten. 8/10. Favorite track: Sad Rain - Live in Japan 2005.
    Carsten Pieper thumbnail
Carsten Pieper Great that Swedish prog rockers Anekdoten secured the rights on their live records and better even, that they're offered here on Bandcamp :-)))
It was a hard choice which of these to get first, though ;-) Favorite track: Book Of Hours - Live in Japan 2005 (BONUS TRACK).
    Mellotronman thumbnail

Favorite track: Sad Rain - Live in Japan 2005.

PDD A wonderful album by a band I didn't even know existed until this morning. The live tracks, in particular, are as powerful as any prog rock/fusion that I have heard in ages. Favorite track: Cosmopolitismo Centimetropolitano (live).

  1. Ramble Beyond
    by BASK
    supported by
    Michael thumbnail
Michael It’s a bit heavy, a bit chill, a bit country and a bit metal/doom. A unique sound. I guess they just made music that they liked, who cares the genre. Excellent. Favorite track: A Graceless Shuffle.
    proceedingweedian thumbnail
    proceedingweedian I love you guys!
Reminds me of home and moments out in the woods that only God and I know about.
Thank you! Favorite track: Mush! Carry Me Home.
    Colin M. thumbnail
Colin M. "Ramble Beyond" is a highly compelling bridge between the much more americana-based sound of their debut and the more hard rock/psych sound of "III." Like apparently all of Bask's output, this rules. Favorite track: The Lonesome Sound.

    Little James thumbnail
Little James For me, this is the most inspiring music Mr. Berne's done since his pair of Caos Totale CDs, which are my absolute favorites. I love improvisation, of course, but my ear seeks structure, and many bands provide the former without the latter. Mr. Berne delivers supremely composed structures to support the free conversations of the instruments. One feels like he's hearing the climax of an epic novel. Favorite track: Surface Noise.
    EmmaH thumbnail
EmmaH Addictive unique music. Listening to this is like being able to fluently understand a new language – then afterwards you’ve no idea what was said or what wonderful language it was. Loads of surprises and immersive sensations. Incredibly good.
    John Cratchley thumbnail
John Cratchley I have been listening to Tim for forty years...more than half a lifetime...he embodies everything I want from a musician and composer...he has gained wisdom and it shows in his intense and provoking output...he sounds like nobody else and that is more than enough for me...

frsy After the bombastic «Nucleus» «The Flow» continues with an excellent riff before settling down with thunderous bass and beautiful cello and Mellotron in the middle part before the headbanging riff returns. «A way of life», the ambient side of Anekdoten, a forward point in -96 to Nicklas Barker’s Kosmogon. «Karelia» brings back memories from my first meeting with Anekdoten on their debut «Vemod». So so beautiful ❤️
    I absolutely love this band!

    kevinca thumbnail
kevinca I heard Sun, astray about a week ago and wept. The other two singles on this album are just as good. Preordered the album physically and digitally. No question this will be an AOTY contender in the metal community. Favorite track: Sun, astray.
    TrackSlut thumbnail
TrackSlut Instantly fell in love with Karmanjakah after hearing Eyes Seeing Eyes. I heard it less than a week ago and have listened to it countless times. The way they can harness heavy and melodic in a track is rare and much appreciated. Highly recommend going through their back catalog and watching the music videos. Everything about this band is top tier. Viggo is also very open about sharing his guitar tabs and playthrough videos. It inspired me to pick up 7 string guitar again. ❤️‍🩹 Favorite track: Eyes seeing eyes.
